Vehicle description
1991 Cadillac Deville TOURING SEDAN (The first "DTS")
I am the third owner of this fantastic automobile. I bought it in 2015 from the second owner in Texas. He bought it from the first owner in 2010. The car began it"s journey in Utah in 1991 when the first owner made the purchase. All maintenance documents dating back to 2010 will be included, along with some other memorabilia from 1991 that was displayed with the car at car shows.
With less than 67,800 miles, this car drives like a new one. It floats down the road like driving your sofa on a cloud. I will miss this vehicle.
Reason for selling: I just don"t have the time to drive anymore. Now retired after a career in the military, then in pharmaceutical sales, then as an educator. I"m not out and about anymore. I have several collector cars and this is the first one I"m selling - and my favorite of them all. Simply, it needs to be driven more often then only once a month for a few miles, like I do. (The longer you leave them sit, the more things go wrong.) The A/C stops holding it"s freon; the tires go low; the power options begin to stick; the battery loses it"s charge. .etc. I"ve had all these things fixed on this car only to let the car sit and they happen all over again. So, off it must go to a new owner who, hopefully, will drive it and keep it active.
I keep the car in a climate-controlled garage, as did the second owner. I"m pretty sure the first owner kept it garaged, also. It has been kept in pampered condition since new. I take it out to car shows occassionally. It always gets lots of attention from the younger crowd.
There were only 1,500 of this model produced for 1991. This is the first year of what was to become the "DTS" (Deville Touring Sedan). The additional features on this car as compared to a normal Deville are: It was offered in 5 monochromatic paint schemes: Carmine Red; Cotillion White (this one); Black; Dark Slate Gray metallic; and Black Sapphire Metallic. Larger 16" x 6.5" forged aluminum wheels with a wreath and crest center cap were fitted to P215/60R16 tires. (Tires have over 90% tread still on them). A quicker 17:1 steering gear was also used. The specific Beechwood-color interior of the DeVille Touring Sedan had leather seating areas and revised seat design with integral lumbar support. Both driver and passenger seat featured six-way power seat adjusters and power recliners. This specific interior also featured American Walnut wood accents on the doors and instrument panel. A grill-mounted wreath and crest replaced the traditional stand-up hood ornament. Side door moldings feature "TOURING SEDAN" lettering and import style break-away outside rearview mirrors were painted body color. Revised sport door handles also are painted body color. The revised exterior also included a cloisonne deck lid lock cover similar to the STS and Eldorado Touring Coupe. (Wikipedia)
Engine oil was changed every 6 months, or 3000 miles since new (I haven"t put that many miles on it, so the oil was changed every 500-1000 miles or so since 2015). Everything works. Although, the longer it sits, the more things start to flicker. AC blows cold; heat blows hot. Power trunk pull down, antenna, windows. . etc. all work fine. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country today.
Feel free to send a message with questions. I"ll be happy to answer.
$500.00 immediate deposit required upon purchase, through eBay. The remainder may be paid in cash upon pick up; or you may send a check, money order, or cashiers check and I"ll release the car and title after they clear my bank. I"m easy to work with. No hassles. I"m not a dealer. Just a guy who likes old cars and has accumulated too many of them.
The car is sold as is. I recommend that you inspect the car personally, or have a professional do it. I will accomodate anyone who wants to come and see the car.
Shipping the car is the new buyer"s responsibility. However, I have a professional business contact with Nationwide Transport Services, Inc. and can arrange shipping at the lowest price for you.
