Vehicle description
Summary: I have owned the car for the past 16 years and have roughly $60,000 invested with full documentation and receipts. A three stage sunset pearlescent paint job with satin black accents was completed in 2011 for $12,000. The engine was rebuilt by Nissan due to minor water damage (currently 50,466 miles on engine). Nearly every major mechanical and electrical component on the car has been replaced. An oil change and brake fluid flush was recently completed. The car has a clean title. The car runs and drives strong! Every time I take the car out for a drive people either wave, honk, cheer or simply get excited.

Body: The car is rust free and doesn’t contain any dents. The car has an authentic Veilside front bumper, VIS racing fiberglass hood and Wings West rear spoiler. In 2011, the vehicle underwent an extensive restoration which included removing all body panels, trim and moldings before being painted. The engine bay was painted in satin black. The body of the car was painted in Sunset Pearlescent (paint code M03). The rocker panels, and bottom half of the rear bumper were coated in satin black to provide a two tone color scheme. The window, T-top, and rear hatch moldings were all replaced during the paint work. The total cost of the paint job was just under $12,000. The window and T-TOP weather stripping was also replaced in 2020. There are a few small paint chips from road debris in the front bumper and there is a small stress crack in the paint located on the driver side of the rear bumper (shown in pictures).
Engine: The previous owner drove the car through some water and seized the engine. She sent the car to Nissan and had the dealer install a rebuilt/remanufactured engine using all new parts at 77,942 miles on the odometer on June 22, 2000. The engine rebuild included: new pistons, rings, valves, main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, valve lifters, rocker nuts and swivels, timing chain, cam sprocket and crank gear, new oil pump, and all gaskets and seals required per the manufacturer. Precision machine work performed: Engine block cylinder walls were bored and power honed, cylinder head mating surface and block mating surface were machined, engine block was line honed, crankshaft was magna-fluxed, turned, and polished, connecting rods were resized and balanced in sets, camshaft was re-machined, rocker arms were re-machined, valve guides and valve seats were re-machined, etc. Additional parts by Chapman Nissan of New Castle, Delaware – new mass air flow sensor, new idler pulley, new cooling fan, replaced liquid filled engine mounts. The total amount for the engine rebuild from Nissan cost $7,497.98.
I purchased the vehicle on October 2, 2005 with 85,200 miles on the odometer and less than 7,000 miles on the completely rebuilt engine as stated above. The engine was removed again and completely resealed on October 21, 2005 by Fisher Nissan of Bergenfield, N.J. due to the original owner storing the car during the winter without starting or driving it which resulted in dried seals. She drove the car approximately less than 7,000 miles in five years since the engine was rebuilt. Nissan of Bergenfield replaced the main crankshaft seal, camshaft seals and one VTC sprocket, and replaced upper valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket plus new timing belt and tensioner – plus replaced all fluids and fuel lines. New injectors, fuel damper, EGR valve, oxygen sensors, PCV valve, black silicone hoses and fuel pressure regulator were all installed at this time. The Engine currently has 50,466 miles on it, runs strong and has no leaks.
Electrical: Installed Bosch 90 amp alternator (stock was only 80 amp), replaced Bosch starter, installed Z1 Motorsports ECU upgrade, replaced Bosch fuel pump, replaced MAF air flow sensor, replaced electric front mounted fan, replaced oil pressure sending unit, replaced Fuel Rail Temperature Sensor, replaced OEM Crank Angle Sensor (CAS), Water Temperature Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Coolant Gauge Temperature Sensor, Bosh oxygen sensors, Oil Pressure Sending Unit, replaced Nissan horns, replaced cold start idle control valve, etc. The Power transistor unit (PTU) was replaced in 2021.
Clutch/flywheel: Fidanza flywheel and stage 2 clutch with heavy duty pressure plate. Replaced Clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder with slave cylinder and installed stainless steel clutch line.
Driveshaft: Custom made 11 lb. one piece dynamically balanced aluminum drive shaft by Powertrain Industries
Transmission: Stock with Red Line Synthetic Manual Transmission Lubricant: MT-90 75W90 GL-4 – gallon and replaced rubber transmission mounts.
Shifter: Z1 Motorsports Premium Short throw shifter.
Rear axle: Stock with Red Line gear oil

Cooling: Upgraded Z1 Motorsports dual core radiator for increased cooling, replaced Nissan 300zx fan clutch with blade and electric fan has been replaced
Heating: Entire heating system was rebuilt with Nissan parts by Nissan dealership. A new heater core, heater vent actuators and hoses were installed.
Exhaust: Tuned chrome headers, Random Technology hyper-flow catalytic converters, X-pipe, B&B 2.5” stainless steel cat back exhaust with 3” round tips. The entire exhaust is free-flow from the headers back.
Brakes: Replaced Nissan calipers painted in high heat satin black with speed bleeders, cross drilled and slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines, installed brake master cylinder brace, replaced brake master cylinder, replaced ABS control valve, replaced power brake booster and replaced emergency brake shoes. Currently has Centric Posi brake pads installed (creates minimal brake dust).
Interior: Custom black & gray leather interior with Z logo embroidery. Nissan black leather with red stitching shift knob, shift boot and e-brake boot. Replaced glove box lock, blue LED gauge lights, Z1 chrome gauge rings.
