Vehicle description

For sale is my 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ. This Jeep sat in a field for 5 years before I started working on it. It had about 89,000 miles on it and was originally blue (I still have the original Odometer). When I removed the engine, it looks like it was repaired from a front-end collision due to some welds that you can see in the photos. I don"t know anything about that. I removed the engine and transmission and had the engine fully re-built at a machine shop. The tranny is original too. It is a 5-speed manual transmission. I removed all parts and wiring down to the tub. I removed the AC and heating systems.
The engine has a new cylinder head since the old one had a crack in it. All of this stuff is new too: new throttle-body fuel injection kit new water pump new fan clutch new fan shroud new radiator re-built alternator new Smittybuilt rear bumper with swing gate new XRC front bumper with space for a winch already wired for towing new Blue Ox alpha class tow bar new windshield new seats new seat-belts all new wiring everywhere new master cylinder new front shocks detachable sway bar linkages new power steering pump new gauges new front brakes new exhaust system (converter and muffler) new wheel fenders new Nitto Trail Grabber M/T 33x12.5 R15 tires (5) new engine mounts Some of the things I did: new paint job. The paint is a pearl red and the paint looks good, but I screwed up the clear coat so you can see some drip-lines. These can be sanded down and buffed out. removed all of the old moldy carpet and Rhino lined the interior replaced all of the wiring. Most of the connections are water-proofed, so the Jeep should take a good dunking. I added a separate wiring system for lighting. All you have to do is buy a bunch of lights and wire it up. I added new gauges, but the gauges are really cheap Jegs gauges. The speedo, tach, oil pressure and water temp don"t work. The speedo works, but I think the cable from the transmission is loose. The tach powers up, but I don"t know why it won"t work. It used to. The fuel, voltage and clock work, so hey, the fuel and voltage is all you really need amiright. I dropped the fuel tank, cleaned it out really well and replaced the fuel sending unit. I don"t have any doors or hard top. Who needs those things anyway? The seats and seat-belts are cheap, so those could use an upgrade.
There is a voltage leak. The constant 12v supply to the radio causes a batter drain due to an internal short in the radio, but I haven"t disconnected it yet.
I bought a Blue Ox tow bar and the front bumper is already wired to tow this sucker. Just hook it up and go off-roading.
The Jeep is inspected and is street legal, but it gets terrible gas mileage and will only go about 55 on the highway due to the gear reductions. The previous owner said he reduced the gears for rock climbing. He might have been telling the truth, but I don"t know because I never cracked open the diffs.
This Jeep has an ARB front and rear locking differentals which do work great. Mechanically, this Jeep is in great condition; after the engine warms up, it purrs like a kitten. Electrically, the voltage leak and the gauges are the only problems.
I had plans to keep upgrading but things have changed and I have to sell it. I think you could easily part this Jeep out for well over $10,000. If you are handy and like to make upgrades, this YJ is for you.
I am not delivering this Jeep anywhere. You have to come and get it. Let me know if you have any questions.
