The third-gen shared little with its predecessor other than the F platform on which it was built. The exterior and interior were entirely redesigned with a stark departure towards a more angular, aggressive style. The convertibles were produced by ASC (American Sunroof Company) in limited numbers and marked the first time Chevrolet had offered a Camaro convertible since 1969.
