1989 Volvo 240 DL. Runs and drives as expected! Car is not rusted out it lived in Kentucky and Virginia most of it"s years parked under the old oak tree. It shifts, it goes over 70 Miles per hour. It stops. It leaks pretty much everything in small amounts. Interior is blue suede shoes styled. It has cool retro stickers that were applied new by what are now older people. Perfect car for the budding college professor or safety minded individual. No styling. No performance. Not much of anything going for it except that it was the safest car on the road in 1989. This beauty cost the original owner over $24,000 in 1989. No Buick Grand National, Chevy Corvette or Toyota Supra for him, no sir the Volvo 240 DL was where his money went! No turbo either this is the more reliable low performance 4 cylinder. Hubcaps might be in the trunk I was afraid to look.
Here"s the deal I bought this at auction because I felt sorry for it. It could use a thorough going over. I drove it a few miles it does what it"s supposed to. Don"t expect a new car it"s 33 years old. You will get it exactly as pictured. This will make a good spare car for when guests come over or you don"t want to mortgage your beach house to afford a rental car. Or for the college kid or high school kid that has a lot of high self esteem.
NY residents add sales tax and whatever it needs for inspection. Out of state bring a trailer or if you feel you have good luck I"ll issue a 30 day temp plate for $118.00 and you can try to drive it home. It probably will make it.
