This partially restored Trans Am GTA is a very nice example of Pontiac"s performance offering for 1989. The GTA package (RPO Y84) was very successful and was produced until the end of Third Generation F-body in 1992. It is powered by GM"s 5.7L 350 with Tuned Port Injection (TPI). The owner states that this is the original engine and has never been rebuilt. This powerplant is basically the same as the engine as . . used in the C4 Corvette of that era except that it utilizes cast iron heads instead of aluminum. Factory GTA performance numbers were very comparable to those of the Corvette. The GTA package included the TH-700R4 (4L60) automatic transmission, power steering, 4-wheel power disc brakes and WS6 handling package. Our coupe"s black exterior was carefully refinished in 2017 and 16" GTA gold/polished spoke alloys offer a stunning accent. The original interior, upholstered in black cloth, is in very good condition. This Trans Am GTA is well optioned including: A/C, T-tops, power-tinted windows, cruise, tilt wheel, power locks, power seats with side bolsters and factory AM/FM/cassette stereo.
