Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300SE is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable. Vehicle Details Here it is! The last of the real German Engineering. Mercedes Daimler Benz 300SE, W126, made in Germany in 1989, Built like a tank! This car has been in storage for the last 3 years and lived in California most of its life. The exterior bodywork glistens with a gloss black finish, however there are panels with scratches, small dents, and some clear coat deterioration on the roof. There is also remnants of a decal artwork on the hood. The bumpers are straight with no cracks however the front bumper does show some sun damage and the rear appears to have been painted. The dry California climate has been very forgiving on the car and as a result there is very little corrosion, just one area observed adjacent to the trunk seal. The chrome work is in great shape. The interior shows very well with its plush black leather seats and wood trim, which all appears to be original condition apart from the drivers seat cushion which has been reupholstered. The dash and hat rack show no signs of sun damage and are in great shape. The carpet is in great shape with no stains or fraying. The steering wheel leather has some areas of wear and loose stitching hence the wheel cover. The car features an aftermarket radio and CD player. The electric windows all work except the right rear passenger side. The front headlight shrouds need to be replaced, the rest of the light glass and plastics are in good condition. The in-line V6 engine starts first time and runs well with no check engine light, maintains consistent cooling temperature and has good oil pressure. Very small oil leak noted near rocker cover, doesn’t look like anything of concern. The transmission engages in forward and reverse. The exhaust muffler features a twin chrome tail pipe but has some corrosion and holes. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a at some point in its life, however the AC does not appear to blow cold air, but all the climate control fans, switches, and heat test out fine. The wheels are in need of reconditioning due to finish deterioration and curb damage. The tires hold air however are showing signs of age. The car has a Clean California title and the last registered expired in 2018. Registration renewal, SMOG testing, and any DMV fees would be the responsibility of the buyer. The title is in hand and ready for transfer to new owner. I have done my best to summarize the car with full transparency however my mechanical expertise and knowledge of the car is limited and therefore this description is not to be considered a full conclusive report on the car. This car would make a perfect restoration platform. This car is sold as is for spares or repair with no warranty expressed or implied. As a friendly reminder; this is a bid to buy auction, not a bid to look. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of auction close. Pick up and full payment of vehicle is required within 7 days, unless prior arrangements are made. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
