Vehicle description

RELISTED DUE TO BUYER BACKING OUT, SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY PLEASE IT IS NOT FREE FOR ME TO LIST ON EBAY MOTORS.
All low feedback bidders (less than 20) must contact me shortly after bidding or I may have to cancel the bid. Sorry but I cannot waste time. Payment due in 3 days from auction close.
Real no reserve auction and this is a real left hand drive Defender!, not a Santana like what you usually see for lower prices. High bidder wins.
5 day auction so please bid early.
This 1989 Land Rover Defender 90, factory Left Hand Drive was imported from Italy and has a clear Virginia title in my name, all customs paperwork available. Overall good condition for age, 2.5TD engine, current odometer reading is 188153 kilometers or 116912 miles. VIN is SALLDVBB8FA386640 . Chassis and bulkhead are very solid, no rust issues. Just some light surface rust on chassis which I did not try to paint over to cover anything up. I did clean the boxed sections of the rear crossmember with a wire brush and shoot some paint on them for protection as these spots are the most rust prone, however this truck had only light surface rust there, see pics. This is the model with sunroof.
Frame is all solid without any patches, bulkhead is clean as well. Footwells, floors are also solid and in good shape. Bodywork is decent for age, there are a few dents and dings, paint has nicks, scratches, some fading in places, some paint touch ups. The rear sliding window seals have some wear. This is not a restored vehicle so it has the expected wear and tear on the exterior and interior for a vehicle this age. Mileage is relatively low at 116K miles, starts quickly even after sitting for periods of time and there is no abnormal smoke from the exhaust on startup or acceleration. Runs, drives, shifts, stops fine, as one of these is expected to be.
Overall the Defender is in good condition but it is not a restored vehicle, is 31 years old so please have realistic expectations. I do not guarantee or recommend long distance drives in any older vehicle without a thorough mechanical inspection/servicing so if a buyer asks if it can be driven to Colorado, I will say it should be shipped.
I can ship it anywhere at buyer"s cost.
Serious buyers only please, please have funds available if you bid . There are select finance companies that will provide loans to purchase classic cars but they do require excellent credit so if you plan to finance, do your research as financing a classic car is not like financing newer vehicles. Woodside credit is one classic car loan company that I worked with for a buyer and it seemed to be smooth enough experience.
Vehicle sold AS IS, no warranty expressed or implied. Payment is due 3 days after auction close, deposit due immediately by paypal. Thank you for looking at this listing.
