Vehicle description

Selling my 1989 GMC S15 Sierra short bed EL model pickup (the base trim pickup in 1989) with a 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual trans. It was sold new at Bay Buick-GMC in Torrance, CA (Los Angeles metro area) to a gentleman who passed away in 2015. It was then sold to a young man who kept it for 2 years. I found it on Craigslist-LA and I flew from Columbus, OH to LA to buy it in 2017. The truck rides, handles and brakes just fine. .no issues, and it has been in indoor storage since I purchased it (I have put less than 100 miles on it in 3 years). The original engine had 243k miles on it and was a smoking, oil-consuming mess, but I found a good engine from a 1989 Chevy S10 with 118k miles and installed it (the original engine comes with the truck if the buyer wants it). All of the new engine"s cylinders are between 145-150 psi of compression (see photo). .great compression and it doesn"t smoke or use oil. The engine is rather loud since the 2nd owner installed a glasspack muffler (it is loud upon startup buts quiets down a lot once it warms up), and there is a check engine light lit, but once it"s warmed up it drives fine (the engine uses an OBD1 connector and I only have an OBD2 code reader. .I believe the code is probably for an OX sensor). The interior is worn but original, and It needs a headliner and the plastic piece that surrounds the left interior door handle. The fan switch on the heater control needs replaced, the radio antenna is broken off, and the right side seatbelt retractor doesn"t retract. The body on this truck is absolutely 100% rust-free and all body gaps are tight and correct. The driver"s side door was replaced for an unknown reason, but it and the driver"s side front fender were professionally painted to match the rest of the truck. I believe the truck has most of its original factory red paint, and I can"t find any other evidence that it was ever in an accident. The truck has 4 new P205-70-R14 tires that are installed on NOS factory GM rally wheels with NOS GMC center caps. The original GMC padded folder comes with the truck and holds the owner"s manual, maintenance booklet, tire warranty, and warranty booklet with the original owner"s name and address typed in (see photo). The truck comes with its original California plates and dealer license plate frames, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player that is not hooked up. I am including many extras with the sale: the original set of 4 plain steel wheels and GMC hubcaps (all in excellent condition), an aftermarket plastic bedliner and tailgate protector (visible in the photo of extras), the original GMC grille (I installed a factory chrome GMC grille to make it look a little flashier), an aftermarket grille that the 2nd owner installed (visible in the photo of extra parts), an extra "89 S15 gauge cluster, an extra rubber floor covering that is in great shape, an extra fuel injection setup that was on the original engine, and an extra Borg-Warner T-5 transmission for a 4-cylinder. I intended to keep this truck and do a V8 swap, but my wife has stage 4 lung cancer and I"m in the process of getting rid of possessions to facilitate us moving from Ohio to Florida for her sake. . unfortunately the truck must go. I expect a payment of $500 via Paypal within 48 hours of the completion of the auction or I will immediately relist it. Payment for the rest of the balance will be made either in cash at the time the buyer picks it up, or by cashier"s check (payment must clear my bank before the truck leaves my possession). I expect the truck to be picked up within 30 days of the completion of the auction or I will relist it. I will help the buyer getting the truck picked up at the storage facility where it is stored, but shipping cost and arrangements are up to the buyer. I can be reached at 614/769-5868 via text (only) to answer any questions. .text me your number and I"ll call you back ASAP). The truck is located at a storage facility that is only a mile off of I-70 and it can be easily loaded onto a semi. Please check with your wife before bidding, and please only bid if you have the funds to pay for it. Thanks and happy bidding.
