1989 Chevrolet Suburban
Built this a few years ago, as a result of my kids getting bigger and not enjoying the back seats of UTV’s. We have thoroughly enjoyed off-roading and on-roading in the SLC area and in Moab many times.
Axles are out of a 1983 K20 (¾ ton) and engine is a 350 with a rebuilt 700R4 transmission, which are both simple and inexpensive to work on.
Has Viper remote start and alarm and a Bluetooth music system hardwired (outdoor UTV stereo).
Very capable rig…. just returned from Moab this past weekend. Good views and legroom for all passengers, holds 8 comfortably. I have an extra bench seat for the front if you need room for 1 more. She has been through Hells Revenge with no issues and has been amazingly reliable for us.
Rims and tires are in great shape with roughly 85% tread remaining. Tires are Toyo Open Country R/T, size 37x12.5x20 and shocks and stabilizer are Pro Comp.
Could use a paint job, if you really wanted her to show well/better, which would be easy as body has little need for repair. I was quoted $2800 if I pulled off the trim and grill, but decided to defer so as not to cry when a juniper bush went down the side. Interior floor has been sprayed with Raptor bed-liner for easy cleaning and durability.
An incredibly fun ride both on and off road, which I’m sure I will miss come summer, but other projects are calling, and I need a little room to move.
