AS STATED. . GORGEOUS BLUE 1989" CHEVROLET IROC-Z CAMARO Z28. POWERED BY THE TUNED PORT INJECTED 5.7 LITER ENGINE. 6900 ORIGINAL MILES. THE VEHICLE IS IMMACULATE AND REQUIRES NOTHING TO DRIVE AND ENJOY.
THE IROC-Z HAS BEEN PRO-CHARGED AND INTERCOOLED WITH ALL NECESSARY TUNING AND BREAK IN COMPLETED. 80% POWER INCREASE OVER STOCK. THIS UNIT WAS PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED. THIS UNIT WAS PURCHASED WITH THE HELICAL CUT DRIVE NOT THE STRAIGHT CUT GEARS, NICE AND QUIET. CHARGER MAKES ABOUT 7/8 PSI @ WOT. SMALLER PULLIES ARE AVAILABLE FROM PRO-CHARGER BUT I HAVE NOT EXPERIMENTED WITH ANY OF THEM.
THE INJECTORS WERE UPGRADED FROM 22LB TO 24LB BOSCH FOR CORRECT FUELING AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. I PURCHASED THE 3-YEAR EXTENDED PRO-CHARGER WARRANTY FOR THE HEAD UNIT, NOT SURE IF IT IS TRANSFERRABLE. LESS THAN 100 MILES ON THE CHARGER AND OTHER ADDITIONS.
CAR HAS ALSO HAD A REAR DIFFERENTIAL UPGRADE FROM THE FACTORY BORG/WARNER 2.77 TO A BORG/WARNER FACTORY 3.27 GEAR SET. THESE GEARS WERE HARD TO COME BY. THE AUSSIE 9 BOLT CARRIER WAS ALSO UPGRADED TO A MACE ENGINEERING "HELICAL" POSI UNIT FROM AUSTRALIA. THE HELICAL UNIT IS MUCH. MUCH STRONGER AND THERE ARE NO CLUTCHES TO WEAR OUT OR CONES TO REPLACE. HOOKS UP NICELY. NO FUNKY NOISES EITHER. ALMOST 10K WAS SPENT BETWEEN THE PRO-CHARGER AND DIFF UPGRADE.
ADDITIONAL GAUGES ARE AUTOMETER BRAND Wideband O2 AND BOOST GAUGE. POD MOUNTED ON THE DRIVERS "A" PILLAR. THE FACTORY "A" PILLAR WAS REMOVED, BOXED UP AND A USED"A" PILLAR WAS SACRIFICED/CUT/PAINTED TO ACCOMMODATE THE GAUGE POD.
THE EXHAUST WAS REPLACED WITH AN OEM DYNOMAX ALUMINIZED CAT BACK SYSTEM DUE TO THE ORIGINAL MUFFLER HAVING UNSIGHTLY EXTERIOR GALVANIZATION CORROSION FROM SITTING IN STORAGE FOR NUMEROUS YEARS. I TRIED TO CLEAN IT UP WITH SOME SOS PADS, JUST MADE IS WORSE. THE EXHAUST WAS NOT A MECHANICAL DEFECT, JUST UNSIGHTLY SO I REPLACED IT. SOUNDS SMOOTHER WITH THE DYNOMAX ALSO.
CAR WAS COMPLETELY AND PROFESSIONALLY UNDERCOATED JUST AFTER PURCHASE FROM THE DEALER. UNDERCARRIAGE IS CLEAN. THE CAR ALSO HAS A VERY RARE "BOSE AUDIO" REAR AMP WITH LOCKING STORAGE AREA, FULL CARPET IN TRUNK. HEADLINER IS TIGHT, SEATS AND CARPET CLEAN, INTERIOR IS IMMACULATE, CAR SMELLS FRESH.
NEW SET OF GENERAL "MAX" SPEED RATED TIRES. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL GATORBACKS, THEY LOOK GOOD BUT I WOULDN"T RECOMMEND DRIVING ON THEM, THEY GO WITH THE CAR.
I HAVE ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT WERE REMOVED FROM THE CAR, THE DRIVER SIDE ORIGINAL "A" PILLAR, THE ORIGINAL CLUTCHED REAR POSI WITH 2.77 GEAR, ALL THE ORIGINAL ENGINE COMPONENTS AND INJECTORS THAT WERE REMOVED WHEN THE PRO-CHARGER WAS INSTALLED. THIS CAR IS AS CLEAN AS THE COME.
UPON MY PURCHASE OF THE CAR, I SERVICED ALL FLUIDS. FRONT-WHEEL BEARINGS REPACKED WITH NEW SEALS. TRANS PAN GASKET AND FILTER (GM GASKET/FILTER). BRAKE FLUID FLUSH, P/S FLUSH, OIL SERVICE (WIX FILTER) FULL SYNTHETIC MOBIL ONE, REAR DIFF SERVICE, FUEL FILTER. ALL FILTERS WERE EITHER GM OR WIX BRAND. A/C BLOWS COLD. 5.7 GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND. PRICE IS MORE THAN COMMENSURATE WITH CONDITION AND OPTIONS.
I AM THE SECOND OWNER. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER THAT CAME WITH THE CAR ALONG WITH A BINDER FULL OF NOTES/RECEIPTS FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT I EVEN HAVE A NICE DEF LEPPARD CASSETTE I"LL TROW IN.
CAR PULLS VERY STRONG. SHIFTS SMOOTH. THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT A 375HP MOTOR IN IT TO BEGIN WITH.
I"M SELLING THE GEM TO FUND ANOTHER PROJECT, PROBABLY MY LAST ONE. I ONLY HAVE ROOM FOR TWO VEHICLES.
