Vehicle description
For sale we have a beautiful 1989 Rover Mini Cooper 30th Anniversary Edition. We are selling this vehicle differently from how we normally present cars on Ebay due to overwhelming demand.
Normally we sell turn key, ready to drive Mini"s . W e have inspected this car an found it to be a perfect candidate for our DIY buyers. It does need a few minor items but is a fantastic Mini for the person who wants to tinker and make it their own.
Drivetrain: The engine starts right up and runs very strong. Oil pressure sits @ 78 PSI during start up and 66 PSI once warm. The transmission shifts smoothly into all gears, clutch does not slip, CV axle boots are good. There is multiple oil leaks on the engine (like every British car) but it hasn"t used any oil since we got the car. The shifter output seal is leaking also which is extremely common. Servicing, Ignition parts & a choke cable would also be worthy replacements.
Mechanical: Brakes are in okay condition with roughly 60% life remaining all around, slight pulsation in the pedal when applying. Suspension is tight but a nice poly bushing kit, hi / lows and performance shocks would be a worthy upgrade. The steering rack is loose and will require replacement, and tires will need replacement as they are weather cracking.
Body: The body is in fantastic overall condition, The 30th Anniversary pin striping & flares are cracking in places but the paint is in awesome shape for its age. There is no visual rust anywhere on the car and all trim is intact.
Underneath the body is overall good condition with 1 rust hole on the passenger floor board that will need to be addressed, its one of the easiest rust fixes on a Mini and we stock the panel for it. Surface rust can be found but nothing that needs to be addressed unless your fully restoring the car.
Interior: Besides the obvious worn steering wheel and floor mats the rest of the interior is in quite good shape and everything works as expected. When using the heater a sweet coolant smell is noticeable so it will require a new heater core.
We have an extensive photo collection and a complete list of repair requirements for interested parties. We also stock every part needed so that can be included with the car at an additional cost if the buyer so chooses.
~ This vehicle is located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The sale price includes importation into the U.S. and transportation to Sweetgrass, Montana. We can help arrange transportation to anywhere within North America. ~ This vehicle"s VIN does not meet Ebay"s requirements, the VIN for this vehicle is: 99X-11800-AR
