Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 1988 Volkswagen Westfalia. We are the second owners purchased in 2008 with 58k original miles. Upgrades were performed in 2010 and it currently has 68k miles, we generally used it for summer camping and festivals for only a few summers. Unfortunately due my wife"s medical conditions we are unable to use it as often as we would have liked and ultimately have decided it is time to part with our camper. It has been garage kept it’s entire life in Colorado. Has not been in any salt or mag chloride environments and has no rust with original paint job. Clean CAR Fax. We have a local long time VW van mechanic specializing in VW vans since the 60/70’s.
Our Mechanic did the following upgrades to acclimate to high country driving:
-Upgraded 2.3 L VW motor with new clutch put in at 62k miles
-Upgraded transmission with limited slip differential and upgraded gearing to increase top end speeds with 2.3 motor. Will cruise at 75-80 MPH with-out going outside green RPM zone.
-Upgraded suspension/shocks with 14” Mercedes wheels.
-4ea 12v batteries
-Air Conditioning blows cold
-Upgraded 2 amp/10 CD/sub woofer cd system
-Added 4 front speakers + 2 console Back speakers which may be swiveled or taken outside van for camp fire tunes
Condition & accessories:
-Original upholstery and pop top cushions in great condition with little use
-Back hatch bug screen, and front windshield drapes original
-Canvas on pop up in excellent condition including screens and zippers
-Interior dash no cracking
-Center area VW carpet original
-New tires
-Propane systems intact for fridge and stove
-13.2G Water storage tank for sink
-Swivel front seats with 2 swivel tables
-Front bug screen on exterior
