Selling my wonderful 1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spur. The Spur is the 4" inch extended wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit for more legroom and used as the Rolls Royce limousine. A very desirable black on black car with subtle red trim giving it a very professional appearance. This car has the updated European headlights giving more light and a more modern appearance. The chrome is perfect and the paint is very good with some minor cracking as shown in the pictures, but you have to look closely to notice it. The seats front and back are excellent as is the 1 inch thick English wool mouton carpet in the back that makes you want to kick your shoes off! The car shows 113,613 miles on the odometer. Recently replaced the steering rack and both hydraulic pumps as they were all leaking. The dashboard and window wood trim is in excellent condition. The air conditioning works very well. The side windows all work, but the drivers window sometimes gets stubborn, a common problem on these series cars. 90 % of the windows problems always come from the drivers door where the wires all come in to the body. The tires are nearly new Vogue 235/70/15 tires (correct Rolls Royce size) that are dead quiet and give the car excellent handling whether you are doing 60 or 100 MPH.The rear shocks have also been replaced (odd steel round housings Nitrogen charged to absorb shock). If you are not familiar with these cars, the hydraulic suspension system is amazing-but only when it is taken care of. I take great care with my cars which gives the real joy of driving that Rolls Royce put into them.
Then you say why are you selling? Have sold my business and moving to Florida to be with my kids. Like many car guys, I can"t take it all with me. I love this car, but don"t want it to sit outside in the Florida sun. It told me it was time for it to be enjoyed by a new owner that will keep it inside and hug it as I did. In my four years of ownership it was out in the rain twice and never in snow or salty conditions. It also never left me stranded even when putting on 100 to 200 miles a day trips. The heat/air conditioning system does quite well but is serviced with Freon 12 as originally from the factory. The radio antennae still goes up and down when the radio is turned on. Great sound, quiet elegant ride and the alluring smell of Conley English leather gives me great joy when driving the car.

If you buy the car or just want to come check it over, that is fine. This sale will be as is and where is at my office in Clinton, Maryland. I use the car occasionally for executive service for the government so it doesn"t just sit. If you want the car, come with money in hand. Do not pay me until you test drive and check it out over and under to your satisfaction. If you don"t want it take your money, shake hands and go home. Do not send someone to check the car for you UNLESS they are familiar with these cars. The suspension and braking is handled by a high pressure two part hydraulic system giving them a ride like no other car. They are a different animal - peculiar but wonderful once you understand them.

I have another Rolls Royce, a Bentley Azure and an award winning 1949 Cadillac Sixty Special so when I move to Florida in the near future, I will not have enough inside garage area to keep everything.
