Up for sale is a very rare car. Here we have a super clean, 1988 Fiero with the factory CJB CODE on the option tag (see pic) for the t-top option. 1988 was the only year the t-top was available as a factory option on the Fiero and it was quite rare. Only 299 Formula models came so equipped! Here we have one of those.
1988 was the final year for the Fiero and arguably the best. Refined suspension and braking components finally put the car into a sports car class. Three models were offered. The base SE, the mid range Formula and the higher end GT. Like the GT, the Formula came equipped with the 2.8 V6 motor. This car also has the optional automatic transmission.
Starts right up (brand new battery) and runs amazingly well. Drives like new, this car shows pride in past ownership. Never abused or modified. Amazing Raspberry Metallic paint with a spotless light gray cloth interior. The pictures do not do this car justice. Car needs nothing mechanically. Very turn key.
I"m a huge fan of these cars and searched long and hard to find the right t-top car. This did not disappoint. I"m very fussy about what I buy and sell. Integrity means more to me than profit so when I sell a car, it"s a car that I hand picked to be part of my personal collection which this was. It"s just time to pass it on to another worthy party.
Issues are minor but to consist of a shifter boot that cannot secure properly due to broken clips. Also, both door window belt moldings are dry and cracked. Those are both very common Fiero issues and replacement parts are available. Also, the car is equipped with air conditioning but does not appear to operate although is hooked up. Other than that, it"s hard to find fault. Probably one of the nicest Fiero"s out there that just happens to be an 88 in the best color combination and with the super are t-top option. You really can"t go wrong here. These cars are finally getting appreciated and are slowly gaining traction in the market. Investing in a good one now, will pay off down the road. I truly believe that.
