Vehicle description
Truck was restored and rebuilt 3 years ago. The previous owner was the town of Ashburnham MA, It was used for the Fire and Rescue primarily for parades. The HUMVEE was complete as it came in 1988 including the the slant back roof, doors, winch, gun turret frame (there is a plate over the turret hole), everything that made this a M1025. I rebuilt, restored, replaced or removed most items on the original truck. The Chumbucket was built to replace its predecessor a 1982 JEEP CJ7 I had restored and rebuilt with the same detail I put into the HUMVEE.
The Chumbucket"s existence has been primarily spending its summers on Martha’s Vineyard driving to and from the beach. I would trailer it the 1.5 hours from my shop to the MV ferry and drive it from there. During the fall and spring I would take it to and from work occasionally and it would live inside for the winter. It has never been in the snow or in the mud since I have owned it.
The truck was gone through from the front to the back replacing any item that was broken or worn and adding any item that I though would make this truck shine. It is still a military HUMVEE at heart but I have installed many of the items that reflect a H1 HUMMER. The truck has good acceleration, tracks strait, 4 Wheel drive is great, stops as it should, always starts, is comfortable. Put about 1,000 miles on it.
Drive Train – A used 2,000 mile 6.5 Turbo Diesel Engine with oversized alternator and 4 speed Automatic Transmission. US Shift Transmission brain. Rebuilt Portal axles (bearing, seals, shims what ever was needed), CV"s replaced, regressed or rebooted. Rear disks and brake pads, Turbo waist gate actuator, 1.5 inch lift kit, hoses, belts, all fluids (oil is changed at the end of every year). This is some of the parts but there is just to much to list. (Many items were purchased from Black Dog Customs who was very helpful in my putting this HUMVEE together).
New interior including – New Seats (4 matching with arm rests and custom bases), New gauges (4 spd Speedo, temp at #8Cyl, 12 volt, trans temp, oil pressure, boost pressure, Pyrometer. Original working gauges are still in the dash) carpet, head liner, center dog house, trim, floor and side sound proofing, sound system, Light switches in dog house, paint, door glass in the 4 doors, bed liner in rear section. LED lights. Keyed Ignition switch…The list goes on.
Exterior – All new lights (LED headlights, driving & marker lights, LED flood lights) new paint on everything (Anything other then the Lime Green paint on the body is a decal or sticker and can be removed), HUMMER Mirrors, Replaced winch cord and hook, roof rack, trailer hitch, military antenna, Door handles and locks, hood grill, fender flares, New Rims and Tires (37x13.5x20 Trail Blade MT tires with Moto Metal Rims), relocated batteries (2 Yellow Top Optima’s) the list goes on for many new parts.
