W acquired this example 3 years ago, and it has been mildly modified with an aftermarket stereo, ECU chip, and E39 M5 wheels. The S38 3.5-liter DOHC inline-six is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and has received regular servicing according to the included documentation. The car has also benefited from new tires and work to the front suspension and A/C during our ownership. The sale includes a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title. Aside from some paintwork to the front spoiler and right rocker panel, the Cinnabar Red (138) finish is said to be all original and shows quite well for its age. The body exhibits good shine and imperfections are said to be limited to some light scratching and chipping commensurate with age and mileage. Panels exhibit uniform gaps and are said to contain their original VIN tags. The exterior rubber trim shows only light fading and the plastic lenses look clear throughout. The staggered 18? alloy wheels were fitted by a previous owner and show minimal wear on the finish. Toyo Extensa tires were fitted less than 500 miles ago. The interior appears well-preserved with no noticeable damage or modifications from stock other than an aftermarket Pioneer stereo. Apart from some wear to the driver’s seat bolster, the Lotus White upholstered surfaces appear in good shape while the carpets look clean and undamaged. All interior accessories work, though the recently converted air conditioning is weak. Rear bucket seats present equally well, as does the rear parcel shelf and upholstered center console. The trunk lid-mounted toolkit appears free of moisture and is complete. The factory 3.5-liter S38B35 inline-six is unmodified apart from an aftermarket ECU chip installed. The engine produced 256 horsepower when new and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Extensive records dating back to the original owner show the car has been consistently maintained throughout its lifetime, with the most recent servicing involving an oil and filter change by the six months ago.
