Vehicle description
1988 BMW 528e This has been my everyday vehicle since July 2011. Mechanically excellent. Meticulously maintained (See sample invoices at bottom here.)
Fine interior. (See images.) Sun-roof and windows, electric and working.
Accidents: 3 "parking lot"/under 3 mph scrapes (1 driver left scene). All professionally repaired via insurance claim.
Odometer reads 71,000 miles. I purchased the car with some 60,000 08-11and put about 3000 miles on it per year. (I work out of a home office.) Theodometer quit working some 4 years ago, so say the car has somewhere around 87,000miles. Best I can reconstruct.
Ideal buyer will know the quirks of age that are part of owning a vintage BMW: i.e. early dash “computer” with LEDs gone dark; cracks in dash; intermittent tach operation; cruise control out, etc. Note also that hood and rear deck show dents from hail storm 5 years ago. - - - - - - - - - - - - - SAMPLE maintenance invoices 05/19 – pre-emissions inspection (Passed, 07-11), recharge AC with R-134.10/19 – new power brake booster, brake master cylinder, hydraulic hoses05/18 – all belts replaced08/17 – new front disc brake pads, rotors resurfaced01/17 – replaced rear brake pads and rotors. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Last maintenance was 05-06-19 at Mark’s Automotive (Nashville, TN).“Service air conditioner.
