Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1987 Porsche 911 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes Fully serviced & sorted in our Sonoma facility. Ready for years of reliable Porsche old school enjoyment that only a 87-89 G body Carrera can deliver ! ! Vehicle Details 1987 Porsche Carrera Targa 3.2L Flat 6, G50 5 Speed Transmission Granite green metallic, Tan Leather with Black beltline 108,000 documented original miles, purchased from the estate of the original owner six months ago. In March 1987 Terry Chandler traded in his 1974 914 and $48,331.66 to acquire this beauty. It was his pride and joy until his passing in 2019. A California car since day one, it enjoyed a pampered life, garaged in Southern California. tragedy struck in 2016 at 105,000 miles when Terry’s Carrera suffered a minor fuel fire which caused damage to the fuel injection system and singed the paint on the rear deck lid. Farmers Insurance refused to repair the car and after months of litigation Terry’s only option was to accept the insurance settlement and have the car repaired on his own. Unfortunately this resulted in a branded title. If a salvaged title car doesn’t fit your comfort zone this car is not for you. Terry took the car to Redline Automotive in Orange and had it repaired correctly to the sun of $17,354.97 plus $2,978 to refinish the engine bay, rear decklid & blend quarters. Invoices tell the story of fastidious ownership. I can assure you this is one of the best driving and well sorted G-50 Carrera Targa you will find. Receipts (not including fuel injection fire) totaling over $20,688 in the last 5,000 miles of this cars life includes complete air conditioning rebuild, new suspension and brakes, rebuilt Targa top, tires, seat restoration, silverknit carpets, etc. Since my ownership we have replaced the clutch, fully serviced the engine, replaced turn signal switch, replaced headlights, rebuilt pedal cluster and shifter, replaced dash, repaired speaker grills, new head unit, new coco mats and more. This car has been sorted and is ready for many miles of enjoyment by its new owner everything works down to the interior lights & clock ! ! Complete with records, tools, spare, inflator. Comparable vehicles have recently sold on BAT have sold for over $70,000, do the research yourself. I have discounted for the salvage title accordingly, keep in mind the brand is not due to collision, flood or some unknown reason as are many Porsche cars with branded titles. Current vehicles available at my asking price would take thousands of dollars of work to get to where this car is at now. Smog and California title in hand, inspections welcome. Thanks for looking.
