Vehicle description

For sale is my 1987 Monte Carlo LS with low mileage 5.3 ls engine from a 2002 silverado.
I purchased the car in March 2012 in completely stock condition with 66k miles and have been enjoying it ever since. Unfortunately, lack of garage space and acquiring another project forces me to sell it. The car has its original paint, which looks pretty good for being 30 years old. That being said, its a 30 year old paint job. . there are a few dings, scratches, dents, the paint could use a polish in areas and some surface rust in a few spots; but nothing major or to the point of needing to be cut out and replaced. The body of the car is solid, floors are solid, frame is solid and not rotten or cracked like most G Bodies in the Northeast.
The 5.3 runs very well, even on the hottest days the temp never gets above 180 degrees. The motor had all gaskets replaced before it was installed and is completely stock besides the cold air intake and long tube headers, and a 160 degree thermostat. The ECU is from an 02 silverado that has a mild tune, VATS was removed and its been programmed to work with the older style overdrive trans. The harness is a reworked gm harness and has the OBDII port and check engine light hooked up for convenience. The fuel system is the same as it was from the factory with the addition of a bosch 044 in-tank fuel pump, and the 5/16 vent line being used as the fuel return to keep up with the needs of the modern fuel injection.
The transmission is the 200r4 that was originally in the car, but has been rebuilt to grand national specs, has a Trans-Go hd-2 shift kit and a 3000 stall converter.
The interior of the car is in nice shape. There aren"t any cracks in the dashboard, the headliner has been re-covered and does not sag, and the carpet is in good condition, not worn through in any spots and doesn"t show any signs of fading. The bench seat that came in the car has been replaced with aftermarket bucket seats and a 2nd gen F-body center console.
Over all, it is a clean and nice driving cruiser that has a decent amount of power, gets great gas mileage, and is as reliable as a modern car thanks to the ls engine and fuel injection.
Also included with the sale of the car is a new front end kit (tie rods, ball joints, ect. ) and a rear spoiler from a Monte Carlo SS.
The reserve is set extremely low considering what it costs to do a ls swap, not to mention how hard is is to find an original paint/panel g body that hasn"t been layered with bondo or rotted out.
