If you"re looking at this then you probably already know that the 81-87 Chevy square bodies are getting harder and harder to find. I won"t spend any time trying to sell you on it because you already know how awesome and rare these trucks are. I"ll instead just go straight to listing the good and bad, then call it a day. However, I would like to first mention that this truck is over 30 years old and with that comes a lot of variables. I will list absolutely everything I know about it with all honesty, however, if I miss anything or if there is something that I didn"t notice, please know that it"s not intentional. I have no desire of withholding any information from anyone but I"m only human and there are a lot of possibilities with an old truck. But just so everyone knows, it has been used as a daily driver for many years with zero problems. It always takes a few seconds to start, but it starts literally every single time and runs great. Very reliable.
Also, I always encourage people to come out and look at it, hear it run, take it for a drive. . whatever you want. If you can"t make the journey before hand that"s totally fine, but please at least reach out to and ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable before placing a bid. THE BAD:
12" wide dent in the bed on the passenger side. Paint job is new but has nicks and scratches all over it. There are some (stupid) moons and stars painted into the doors for some ungodly reason. The seat is worn pretty bad where the driver sits (I bought new seat cover but it was too small). The fuel gage does not work. That passenger side gas tank does not work. The gear ratio is really low, which is great for power but you"re rpms are pretty high on the freeway. Needs a back roll pan (or bumper).
THE GOOD:
Throttle body injected 350 out of an old police Interceptor (very fast). SM465 Muncie heavy duty 4 speed (granny gear + 3) transmission. Aluminum Cragar wheels Brand new phantom grill. Brand new brake master cylinder. Brand new air filter. Brand new plugs and wires. Brand new cap and rotor. Brand new radiator cap. Brand new fuel pump in the driver side fuel tank. Paint job is new but has nicks and scratches all over it.
