Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 1986 Jaguar XJS Coupe UNFINISHED PROJECT. V8 (Chevy 305 from 1984 Pontiac Parisienne Wagon - quadrajet) with 700R4 automatic transmission from same. Engine has 89000 miles. I replaced timing chain and water pump, trans filter and seal. CONVERSION work is completed except the tach needs a resistor soldered to make it accurate for V8 rather than V12. Covered in manual supplied. (JTR kit) Custom bent exhaust. Note - no cats. The things that need doing: It needs electrical and or wiring work. If the battery is left connected it will go dead. There is obviously a draw somewhere. There are things that don't work including the horn, gas gauge, brake lights, signal lights and blower motor. Could be as minor as a fuse or something more complicated. That's the worst of it. I never diagnosed. Things that DO WORK FINE include Headlights, parking lights, emergency flashers, reverse lights, interior lights, power windows, wipers, radio / cassette. The alternator is Chevy and charges the battery fine. Speedometer works. Has the factory hardwired phone which worked when the car was last on the road in 2008. Also needs tires and brake work. The ride is jerky because the tires are 13 years old and dry rotted. The brakes stop the car but need attention. Car has stalled sometimes which I believe to be gas tank venting. As stated before - all the major conversion work is done , now you just need to take care of the finishing. It has only been driven a few short rides each summer since conversion. It has been kept under cover 99% of the time. I drove it about a mile last week. Runs, drives, stops. She's a real head turner and looks like she's doing 100 just sitting in the driveway! Comes with conversion manual and expensive Jaguar service manual. Comes with extensive records. Car has clean Connecticut title signed by my nephew who was the previous owner. I never registered it. I has a small fluid drip. I haven't looked where from but nothing is noticeable on dipsticks, so. .Only reason I'm selling is I got old and now that I have the time I've lost my energy and passion. So here ya go! A beautiful, sexy and rust free head turner for this low price. Images Download the Motors app
