Vehicle description
1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Same owner since March, 1987 at 2234 miles until I bought it last month. After driving it some I decided I"d rather have the five speed model. Currently just shy of 92k miles but will increse slightly as I do drive it when weather permits. The Blackbird is all original except paint, cassette player and maintenance items. Never wrecked, painted two years ago due to fading on hood and roof. Full power including driver"s seat.
The body is remarkably straight to be a black car. All panel gaps are consistent, no dents or dings to speak of. Paint is very good but not perfect. There is one very small scuff on the left rear corner that needs touched up. A couple of edges on the molding are lifting and need to be reattached. I believe with a good cut and buff it would really stand out at the local cruise ins.
The interior is in excellent condition with minimal wear. It"s never been smoked in. Seats, carpet, dash and headliner have to damage to speak of. The door panels do need some attention. Passenger door switch panel trim is loose. Driver"s armrest retainers are broken and need repair. Mechanically she is in above average condition. Engine is in good condition. No major leaks or issues I have found. Cranks right up and drives well. Transmission shifts smooth. No odd noises from the rear axle. Suspension it still tight, handles and rides smooth. Tires and brakes are good. AC has been converted to R134 and blows nice and cold. If will pass emissions testing if needed. Tune up parts have been ordered and will come with the car if not installed before the sale. The only issues I know of are the right side window doesn"t operate, speakers are original and not the best, fog lights don"t work, and the exhaust has a small hole in the curve after the catalytic converter. It isn"t loud but just noticeable at idle. The hood insulator needs replacing. It"s still there, just not pretty. The engine bay has not been detailed at this time. These few issues will be addressed the longer I have it.
I do have a clear TN title on hand. I will require a $500 non refundable deposit through PayPal from the winner. Payment is due at pick up and in the form of cash only. I will not ship the car. It must be picked up locally in Chattanooga, TN. I will be available after six pm most any evening to deliver the car and will allow seven days to make arrangements to meet for delivery.
