About this vehicle This 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is an original with updates to the drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver. Shipping will be at buyers expense. Will help load vehicle. Car can be seen by appointment only. Vehicle Details For sale is an original 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. 8th vin digit is “G”. Hard to find T-top car. Motor has been upgraded to the first gen Z crate motor sold by GM. Motor is fresh had a complete rebuild in 2011 with less than 1000 miles since rebuild. Motor is strong! Edelbrock headers installed Automatic 4 speed 200r4 transmission. There is rust on the bottom of the quarter panels and looks like bondo above the driver rear wheel is cracked. I never did any body work to the car. Carburetor needs to be cleaned and battery is weak. Transmission will need to be looked at. At WOT the tranny does not properly downshift. Has shift kit in it. Don’t know if that’s the issue. Lots of new parts put on during rebuild. Tires, door hinges, headliner, t-top weatherstripping, trunk weatherstripping, radiator and complete new front end all new. Interior is clean but a bit sun faded. I had car stored in garage since I bought it. Never out in the rain. Have original block and heads that come with car. Don’t know if it’s numbers matching.
