This 1985 Land Cruiser is a great base for a restoration project. The body is solid with minimal rust and the interior is in fairly good condition for the age. It has been kept garaged for most of its life. The truck runs fairly well and is great on regional trips, but will eventually require some work. The engine is a 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline, with carburetor and choke controls. The starter was replaced two months ago and it fires up quickly. There is a leak in the main seal that takes about a liter of oil every 1.5 months, depending on driving frequency. The truck smokes on startup, but clears out after warming up. The engine should be rebuilt eventually to correct these issues. The battery is one month old. The coolant overflow tank was replaced one year ago. Vacuum system and idling controls were redone one year ago. Brake system master cylinder also replaced one year ago. The air conditioner needs a new compressor. The headlight washer fluid tank needs to be replaced. Condition of the headlight washer motor is unknown. 4WD system works well and changes easily. Some rust on the wheels and dry rot on the tires. Some dings and other blemishes on the body I highlighted in the pictures. Brushguard installed on front. The radio and speakers are after-market. The radio is in good condition, but the speaker covers are dented and dinged. The power antenna was removed by a previous owner, who installed an after-market antenna on the other side. New OEM side-view mirrors installed 1.5 years ago.Interior is fairly good for the age. Driver"s door and seat have significant cracking. Small crack on dash (see picture). Carpet on tailgate is missing. Small burn spot on back bench seat. Original toolkit included: contents appear to have been modified, but there are several Toyota-brand tools included. Rear cargo organizer and custom sunshields for front and back windows included. Please contact me and I can e-mail videos of cold start and driving.
