Vehicle description
Overview:
I am selling a 1985 Mustang GT with less than 18k original miles. The color is Light Regatta Blue. It is a 5 speed manual transmission with the factory installed 2.73 rear gear ratio. The car has no sunroof, the non-cruise steering wheel and crank windows. The documentation with the car is extensive and 100% complete. The car was undercoated when new per the original sales order with Rusty Jones undercoating. Rusty Jones is the yellow glue like substance that I removed with WD40 and elbow grease. It would be very hard to tell it was ever undercoated. The cruise control in the car is a Ford Accessory part that was added at the time of sale in 1985. It is listed on the original bill of sale. Original tires are included with the sale.
Maintenance:
This is a turn key car. The original carb was rebuilt a few years ago to factory specs. I have the receipt listing exactly what was done to the original 4180c at the time of the rebuild. In the last 2 months I installed new Motorcraft copper plugs, new EGR valve, drained and refilled radiator with fresh coolant, installed a new distributor, cap, rotor, set timing to 15 degrees, installed a factory style K+N air filter, and had a front wheel alignment performed. The rear spring isolators were also replaced with NOS Ford parts. A new correct size Group 56 battery was installed. The battery cables were replaced with OEM style replacement cables. I have the original negative cable. A recent oil change with a Motorcraft filter was also completed recently. Tires on the original 10 hole wheels are about 4 years old and have about 1k miles on them. They are Kuhmo brand tires 225/60/15. The A/C was converted to R134 a few years ago. The A/C blows cold. The original set of 4 Goodyear VR60 tires are also included with the car and would be great to show on the car if it were trailered to a show.
Modifications:
-underdrive pulleys -Flowmaster Original 40 series mufflers welded into factory tailpipes -factory cat deleted with straight pipe -still retains its factory 2-1-2 exhaust configuration -sounds awesome
Paint Condition:
The paint is mostly original factory paint. This driver side quarter panel was repainted prior to my ownership. I offer this information based on the fact that I had the car inspected and the paint meter reading on the driver side quarter panel was higher than all the other panels. Just looking at it, you would not know it was painted. I had the passenger side fender, and rear bumper cover painted to take care of some paint blemishes. The only way to tell that this car has had any paint work would be to use a paint meter reading. I have worked with the same body shop for years and they are masters of their craft in matching older paint.
Documentation:
-original Window Sticker (not a reproduction) -original bill of sale -original owners manual packet -original warranty card -mileage odometer statement -original finance contract -original Ford “Mustang” quarter window info sticker -extended warranty paperwork -Rusty Jones paperwork -Marti Report -Loan life insurance contract -original to the car factory issue Goodyear Gatorback VR60 tires. These are the tires that were on the car when it was sold new and are date coded 514- which is the 51st week for 1984. -build sheet
I have no problem working with an overseas buyer. I have sold a few cars overseas in the past few years and have never had an issue.
