Vehicle description
Hey Monte Carlo fans. Here is a barn find SS that has been put back on the street. Parked in 1994, removed from the building in 2015. The car has power steering, power brakes (front disc), cruise, air, tilt, power windows, power locks, power trunk release, rear defog. All of the options work. The transmission was rebuilt and works fine unless you lean on it and then it wants to surge. I don’t know if this is as simple as a TV cable adjustment. You might want to check with your transmission guy.I will try to accurately represent the vehicle: The good:•Only two adult owners•Original numbers matching drivetrain•Starts and runs good. Sounds great. The 305 HO engine has good oil pressure.•Paint was professionally done and is a little over three years old•Lots of work done in 2015 – brakes, tune up, carb rebuild by Sean Murphy Induction, MagnaFlow exhaust, brakes, starter, alternator, engine belts, hoses, recored radiator, transmission oil cooler lines, secondary air pump, high flow cat convertor, gas tank and NOS GM sending unit, temp sending unit, used horns, vacuum control for HVAC and cruise control servo.•Original upholstery. New headliner and console top.•A/C worked after being charged with Red Tek R12 replacement•Straight solid rust free body. One patch panel installed on the inside of the RH door. The door panel covers the repair. The frame, floors, trunk and body braces are all good.•New tires 2017•Rebuilt transmission 2018•Water pump 2019•Not driven in the winter since 1994The not so good (none of which impact the operation of the vehicle):•Minor paint issues – a blemish by the RH mirror and two small defects at the roof seam•Right turn signal indicator in the dash does not work – the turn signals work fine•Need to move the hood closer into the guide when closing the hood•When you turn the car off you need to put it back into reverse and then back into park and turn the key the rest of the way to remove the key•The heat stoves on the exhaust manifolds rusted away while it was in storage•Left hand exhaust manifold flange broke when the exhaust was put on. Did not impact the sealing surface. Does not leak exhaust.•EGR valve sticks and is disconnected•Leaks a little oil•Smokes a little sometimes when it starts. Probably worn valve guides. Typical for a small block Chevy.•Minor dash damage above the radioThe car has an Alpine AM FM cassette in it. We put about 4,100 miles on it in the time that we have had the car. The vehicle sells as is. Low reserve. Over $16k invested in the project. Reason for selling – retired and downsizing. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
