Vehicle description
1985 Chevy Suburban C20 Silverado package. 2WD 3/4 ton truck with a numbers matching freshly rebuilt 454 with only 900 miles since rebuild. Truck shows 35125 on 5 digit odometer.
Specs on the rebuild: Block bored 0.030 Domed pistons bumping compression to a little over 9:1 Comp Cams Xtreme 4x4 cam and lifter kit (.505 lift I/E, duration @ 0.50 210 intake and 218 exhaust) not too aggressive Comp Cams valve springs to handle the bigger cam Comp Cams High Energy roller rockers Valve job with new exhaust valves Weiand intake Edelbrock 750 carb Full length ceramic coated headers
New parts with rebuild: Balancer Starter Flexplate Torque converter and transmission seals New rear driveshaft, center carrier bearing, and trans output shaft. Both rear and front driveshafts were balanced. Fuel pump Sending unit (40 gallon fuel tank looked clean inside) Water pump Radiator and hoses Alternator Distributor A/C compressor, front lines (not rear), accumulator, evaporator, expansion valve. Both front and rear A/C are in working condition (heat too). Front brake calipers, pads, and hoses Power brake booster Master cylinder Full custom exhaust with H-pipe and dual Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow mufflers Driver window weather stripping replaced. Have driver side just haven"t put on. Shocks were replaced a couple years ago along with Cooper Discoverer AT tires. Headliner recently replaced. Probably forgetting some stuff.
Someone who loves GM squarebody trucks needs to finish this project. This was originally a California truck that made it"s way to Texas so it"s rust free except for the patina on the hood. Here"s a list of some things that still need to be addressed: Window regulators/motors. Driver front stopped working, Pass front goes down half way, Pass rear goes down all the way but slow, Driver rear goes down half way, Tailgate window rolls down fine 95% of the time. The dash is cracked and should be replaced along with the fuel gauge. It was working fine after the sending unit was replaced but recently started showing only 1/4 tank after fill-up. The engine temp sending unit must have been a universal unit as it reads ~230 consistent under normal operating temperature. I validated the inconsistency with a temp gun. Haven"t bothered to replace it with a correct unit. Minor cosmetic interior stuff. The oil pan seems to be leaking from the rear and drips a little on the exhaust. The rear end should be 373 gears based on the build sheet. It does seem like there"s some play in it. Not a big problem right now but will need to be addressed in the future. The rear driver side window is cracked a little but it"s hard to even see it.
