We all know that a car like this 1984 Toyota Celica Supra Mark II is entering a new era of valued classics. So to find one with such a good mix of preservation and investments makes for a great value at this price. Of course, the rear appeal here is a getting a fuel-injected, five-speed coupe from the era of great driver"s cars.
This generation of the Supra was an instant hit the moment it first hit the scene in the 1980s. Flip-up headlights gave it plenty of legitimacy in an era when even the slant-nosed Porsche 911 offered the flat front end appearance. But the front air dam, full-length power bulge hood, and sleek hatchback design gave the Supra its own distinctive and very aggressive personality. Not only does that make it desirable, but this example also shows long-term care. These came from the factory with some aggressive angles and kit, but while many were altered to go wilder, they resisted additions to keep this example looking stock (and valued). The correct original paint has an attractive gloss. Even the details are nice with clean signals, good rubber, and those factory alloys remaining crisp and distinctive.
The interior is clean, complete, and impressive. Supras came with nicely bolstered bucket seats that are both body conforming and all-day comfortable. It sets the tone right for this car, because a good Supra is a nice balance of performance and luxury. The dual-spoke factory steering wheel is on a tilt column, and it gives you a clear view to the full gauge package with large speed and tach. You have all the best features, like power windows, power locks, power steering, cruise control, electric rear defogger, sunroof, and a premium AM/FM/cassette stereo with seven-band equalizer. Ther conditioning has to be recharged.I really never used it,and drove most the time with it sunroof all makes for the ideal driver for more than just the short trips.
The 2.8-liter DOHC inline six is truly a marvelous motor. This fuel-injected, multi-valve powerplant loves to rev, and it makes a wonderful growl at full throttle. You get to make the most out of all this by the total control of the five-speed manual transmission. In fact, this has even has some recent investments for a great driver"s classic, like new front brakes, MagnaFlow exhaust from the back, and semi- new BF Goodrich tires,new slave and master,timing best was changed at 252,000 . The moment you feel like hitting the open road, the fully independent sports suspension and four-wheel power disc brakes remind you instantly how the nimble Supra has earned its legendary status.The back brakes/drums will need to be replaced. This Supra is also known as "The Tractor" for the Amazing 3rd Gear. The front main seal leaks and has not been driven since August.I already paid my mechanic to do the work,but he is currently in the Shelby Jail. So I am selling outright.You will need to have her towed. You will not find a Supra in this Color With Leather 5 Speed Sunroof.
