Vehicle description
Mercedes-Benz 190-Series 2.2 Liter Diesel Automatic. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner in March of 2020 due to the extreme reliability and longevity of these older Mercedes diesels. The car has been well maintained, predominately garage kept, and spent most of its life in Washington. It is 100% original with the exception of the factory speakers. I have installed a Pioneer bluetooth stereo (not pictured) and will include the original radio that is pictured. In the past year I have replaced the belt, tensioner, front wheel bearings, hood pad, interior light bulbs and changed oil and fuel filters. It is mechanically sound with like new Michelin tires and gets incredible fuel mileage. It cranks right up, has nice torque and shifts very smoothly. The engine sounds great and it"s a fun car to drive as it handles very nicely and just feels very solid. I feel like this was when MB was at their best (80"s and 90"s). The interior is extremely clean as shown in the pictures. It appears the car has been repainted at some point based on what I can see behind some of the chips. It does not appear to have any major body work done, which is substantiated by the Carfax report (no accidents reported).
As with most 37 year old cars there are some known issues. Here"s what I have observed: Crack in center A/C vent, two blemish spots in paint (shown in pics 6 and 7 on the hood and trunk), AC does not blow cold and does not appear to have been converted from R12, drivers side taillamp assembly is cracked, antenna mast needs to be replaced, glow plug light does not illuminate in the instrument cluster (I just countdown before cranking), and there are several chips and some scratches in the paint that are mostly visible close up.
The reason for selling is to make room for a W126 I recently acquired.
I truly enjoy driving this 190 and wish I could keep both cars.
I have the clean title in hand.
The car is located in TN and will need to be picked up or shipped at buyer"s expense. I may be able to provide shipping for a reasonable charge depending on how far away the buyer is located from Chattanooga, TN.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end.
