Vehicle description
You are bidding on a fair condition but restorable Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. The car can be fixed mechanically but needs work- one of the rear wheel brake cylinders has locked up about 5 years ago, and the master booster needs to be replaced, so it"s been parked there since then. Also, since the car has been sitting for 5 years, it does start up and run, but runs very rough. Most likely needs to have the carburetor and gas lines cleaned out. The clutch is also weak and needs to be replaced.
The car has rust around the top of both rear wheel wells, which is common for these FJ60"s and there is some rust around the base of the rear tailgate and windshield area. All areas are repairable.
I bought the car in 2000 at 181,000 miles and it was a very strong runner before I parked it. Previous owner did a valve job and machine work on cylinder head, and the engine should run strong again once the fuel problem is cleared out.
Vehicle was repainted in 2000 after I bought it, and with the exception of the rust spots mentioned previously looks good. Underside is also O.K. with no rust through on floor pans (contact me for additional underside pics). I had a lot of work done to the car when I first bought it in 2000- new brakes, radiator, hoses, belts, Mean Green starter, exhaust, and tires.
Interior is in average condition for its age as shown- hole in front driver"s seat upholstery as shown, cracked dash, covered with aftermarket molded dash cover, but otherwise looks decent.
With some mechanical work as described this FJ should be a good driveable Land Cruiser again.
Low starting price means this FJ is priced to sell and will be a fairly straightforward project to get on the road again.
* * IMPORTANT NOTE- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
Due to mechanical issues stated previously, this truck is NOT in driveable condition. Buyer must have vehicle towed or winched onto flatbed truck, since it cannot be driven up ramps under its own power in its current condition. Take this into account before you bid and do not bid on this car unless you can make these arrangements for winching, towing and transport.
