It offered the publica moderately priced genuine sports coupe that was capable of outperforming anyother sports coupe in its class. One of its secrets, in addition to the twinrotor high revving Wankel rotary engine was the amazing handling with its 50/50weight distribution. It was voted one of the top 10 cars in the USA more thanonce and even received a top three rating in 1983. With only two prior owners sincenew (the second owner nearly 30 years) this is a near perfect example ofMazda’s RX-7 GSL Coupe. This car has every option available from Mazda exceptthe automatic transmission. Fortunately, it is fitted with the 5-speed manualtransmission to enhance the amazing performance and handling that this car isnoted for. I have all service records fromday one as well as the owner’s manual and all related documentation including afactory brochure of the 1983 model year. This car was rust proofed inside thebody panels and underneath before it ever saw the road for the first time. As aresult, it is absolutely rust free and has never had body repair work of anykind. It is as pure as a 38-year-old car can be and then some. I would ratethis RX-7 somewhere between excellent and excellent plus. The Premium leather interior isflawless as are the carpets and headliner. When not on the road the car hasbeen kept indoors and covered. The original full cover comes with the car. I doubtthat this car ever saw the rain let alone the New England winters. Everything in and on the car worksas it was designed to do. The A/C works as does the awesome multi speaker, dual25-watt amps, graphic equalizer, AM/FM cassette radio that was factoryinstalled. All of the lights, switches, and creature comforts that it was builtwith are intact and functioning. It is rare that a car of thisquality and exclusivity comes up for sale so do not miss your chance to ownthis one. These (Gen 1) RX-7s and especially the GSL version are increasing invalue every year, so a good investment is almost a certainty. The paint and body are withoutrepair and are perfect with the exception of one pencil point size dimple thatis all but impossible to see (picture included). This low mileage totally originaland nearly perfect collector’s car (Generation 1) RX-7 GSL is a one of a kindand needs nothing. To top off the beauty of this car it was recently fullyserviced and inspected by a Mazda specialist where all serviceable items were examined,and all fluids changed including the specially formulated Anti-Freeze. Fullsynthetic 20W50 oil was used in the engine. Tires are nearly new and all safetycomponents received special attention.
