Vehicle description

Je parle Francais. Hablo Espanol tambien.
VIN is VF7AZKA0093KA2349. Ebay"s automated system didn"t recognize the imported VIN.
This Deux Chevaux was restored in France and later imported to the USA in June, 2018! This car has been to the White House (see photo) and then was taken straight to Chicago. It has only 101,5xx original kilometers, which works out to 63k miles.
Comes with original, handwritten 1983 bill of sale and a service record that begins at the same time. The car was (rarely) driven by grandmas and grandpas. More recently, a collector- -who actually worked at a modern Citroen dealership- -had kept it garaged for Sunday drives in ancient Saumur, France. I bought it directly from him. He had also just put on 2 brand new (cute) rear tires.
This car has literally spent its entire life within a 1-hour drive of Angers, France, where it was originally purchased. It comes with a "dossier" full of handwritten maintenance bills that also support its super-low original mileage. I have the original French title and all importation paperwork (customs, DOT, EPA) necessary to register.
I love driving the "candy car," as I call it, with its shifter sticking straight out of the dash. It takes about two blocks to get used to and then you forget about shifting and just enjoy the wind in your hair.
The yellow and mint paint job are reproduced original colors.

A bit about 2CV"s.
The French designed and developed Citroen 2CV was created in late 1930"s to help motorize farmers who still found horses the only form of travel, but the program was paused with the start of WWII. The 2CV needed to be simple, cost effective, and easy on fuel consumption.
Additionally, these vehicles needed to be versatile for both street and light off-road use, so a long travel 4-wheel independent suspension was employed. If a large cargo was required, the roof could be folded back to allow long objects to stay out in the wind. The test engines proved remarkably durable with a running time of 1000 hours at full throttle without fault, equivalent to being driven constantly for 50,000 miles!
This magnificent power plant was then mated with front-wheel-drive and a brilliant 4-speed transmission! Characteristics most manufactures wouldn"t incorporate for many years later. Not only did Citroen bring a fine automobile to market in 1948, they ended up designing a vehicle that would stay in production for the next 4 decades with fundamentally no major changes.
For this reason, parts and servicing options remain readily available today! Their charm, extraordinary mechanical reliability, and modern collectability, have allowed them to find parking spots in collections the world over!
