Bought this limited edition 1982 Corvette Collectors Edition about 18 months ago in Seattle. . The guy I bought it from told me that he was driving along in 2016 when the car started coughing even though he had plenty of gas. . He managed to get home and then left the car alone for the next 3 years. . Eventually he got around to listing it on Craigslist for sale and I bought it. . I didn"t see it as being a big problem to get it fixed, the worst thing I thought was going to be preparing the bodywork for a new paint job - which it needs!. . Friends on the Corvette Forum suggested all sorts of reasons for the misfire but it turned out to be the ECM. . A "new" ECM from an "84 certainly fixed the electrical problems and got the new injectors firing properly. . Finally having changed out the engine wiring harness, distributor cap, plugs and plug wires the engine burst into life on 4 year old gas. Fresh, ethanol free gas, a new fuel pump and filter ensures that the engine is now producing around 50 psi of oil pressure at 2000 rpm and the car now runs as it should. . It still needs work though - the interior needs refreshing, the horn doesn"t work and neither does the a/c. The antenna is missing and there"s an air leak on the headlight vacuum circuit behind the dash - you can hear the hiss! However the main problem is the bodywork, it"s a mess! Worst area is the top of the front fender passenger side, it"s misaligned. Looks like probable damage repair but I can"t get in there to see however I can see that the whole front clip has been off the car at sometime in its life. My mechanic says that he sees no mechanical damage/repair and VIN check confirms that no accident damage has been reported for this car - comes with clear title. . So what you see is what you get, the T tops are in good shape and the T top carriers that fit to rear fenders are included in their own bag - the car just needs someone to love it again and i"m just too old now . .
