Vehicle description
1981 Phillips Berlina
The Phillips Berlina is a neo-classic car built at the Phillips Motor Car Company in Pampano Beach Florida. It was built to resemble a 1936 Mercedes Benz 540K Roadster. One of 180 built using a brand new C3 Corvette as a donor car. Produced from 1980-82 ending production when the new C4 Corvette was introduced. The Phillips Berlina is not a kit car. It sold as a new car with a factory warranty from Chevrolet and Phillips through a limited number of participating Chevrolet dealers. Mt father purchased the Berlina about four years ago but unfortunately was never able to drive and enjoy it due to health issues. I just recently got it out of the garage for a 20 mile drive and fresh fuel. It runs and drives as it should with no drama. The tires, brakes and front brake calipers have less than 150 miles and were new 4 years ago. Seller stated at time of time of purchase the 12K miles showing on the odometer were original but provided no paperwork. Unfortunately, we have no way to document the miles other than the overall condition of the vehicle. All the gauges, power windows, radio, heater, A/C and lights are operational. The power door locks are not currently working. The passenger side glass top is missing a piece of weather strip along the top edge. Noticeable exhaust leak on cold start. Appears to be the driver side head pipe or manifold. It will leave a small amount of oil on the ground after extended storage. A very nice but not perfect Berlina that deserves to be driven and enjoyed. The Berlina has a clean CA title in my name and is currently registered non-operation with the DMV. Please message with any questions.
