Vehicle description
1980 Triumph Spitfire, 1500cc with Weber 4 barrel Carburetor If you have ever restored a car you know the cost is at least 3x what you expect. My budget was $5000, I"ve spent over 12K. You can read below what I have done, but there are still things that need to be done. The heater doesn"t work (I live in Florida not a big deal for me). There is no reservoir for windshield wiper fluid (I"m 6"3" and can reach over the windshield if it needs cleaning). I would have no problem driving this car across country. My main focus has been mechanical. I don"t like being stranded. Review what I have done below. BTW, I"m certain I missed a few thing. New Parts 1. Paint and Body work ($6000) 2. W indow trim 3. Bonnet and Boot gaskets 4. Interior door panels 5. Seats reupholstered (I bought the Spitfire foam kit) 6. Dash reupholstered 7. Complete Carpet kit from British Victoria 9. New tire 4 Shocks and front coil springs 10. New hydraulic clutch 11. Pistons, Rings, Crank shaft bearings 12. Rear Main Seal 13. Radiator 14. Radiator Fan 15. Water Pump 16. Electronic Distributor 17. Starter Alternator 18. Fuel Pump (Mechanical and Electronic spare) 19. Windshield 20. Windshield Wiper Motor 21. Master Cylinder Rear leaf spring R
