Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1980 Nissan Figaro is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Seller"s Notes This car gets a lot of attention wherever you go. The design both inside and out is like artwork with fleur de lis style trim throughout. The engine has lots of pep thanks to the turbo yet said to get over 32 miles per gallon. This car has won numerous show awards including “People’s Choice Awards” and “Best Import Awards”. While looking like a car from the 1950s you have all the modern driving and comfort feature of a modern car. Only reason I’m selling is for cash flow for my Covid hit business. Vehicle Details Debuting at the 28th Tokyo Motor Show in 1989, the response was so enthusiastic, Nissan launched Figaro sales in Japan on Feb. 14, 1991. Limited to 20,000 units, Nissan officials expected demand to outstrip supply. They were right. Figaros were delivered, using a lottery system, in three allotments: an initial 8000 units, followed by two batches of 6000 cars later in 1991. Timelessly appealing design Styled, according to Nissan, to convey “a delicate feeling of stylish elegance in everyday life” while satisfying “a zestful desire for a good time,” this cutie’s charms puts you, your passenger, and every onlooker in a good mood. It’s a happy little car, one that timelessly pays tribute to vintage Italian, French and Japanese microcars. It’s remarkably ageless, retaining its bouncy charisma despite being 27 years old. Best of all, the top folds into the trunk so that it doesn't detract from the Figaro's voguish lines—although the side rails and rear roof pillars remain in place. It comes in four colors, one for each of the four seasons: Lapis Grey for winter, Emerald green for spring, Pale Aqua for summer, and Topaz Mist for fall. Name your car accordingly. What’s it like to drive? A 1.0-liter turbocharged version of Nissan's four-cylinder engine generates 76 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque through a three-speed automatic transmission; a manual transmission wasn’t offered. The chassis employs McPherson struts up front and a four-link coil spring suspension at the rear. Steering is rack and pinion, stopping is courtesy of front ventilated discs and rear drums. Unless you regularly drive diminutive cars, nothing prepares you for the Figaro’s size. If you’re trapped in traffic and the only shortcut is across the golf course, you’ll find the Figaro easily fits on a golf cart path. Trust me on this. Yes, it’s a very maneuverable city car. If you can’t parallel park the Figaro, you should be walking. And its city car goes beyond size. After all, if you’re an urban dweller, style matters as much as anything, and this car has it in spades. This car has 54,000 original miles. The exterior paint appears to have been redone within the last few years. No rust other than surface rust is visible. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with the exception being 2 small trim pieces which were out of stock until November. Some of the other chrome pieces are showing signs of light pitting. The interior looks like new with no rips or tears. The top was redone 6 months ago and the dash is in excellent condition. Very strong and cold A/C and good heat. Everything works with the exception of the clock. Also the radio works but doesn’t pick up US frequencies. Engine runs strong and turbo in good working order. Transmission shifts properly. Overall this is a good example of a rare one year only micro cars that delivers fun and smiles everywhere and arguably the ‘Cutest’ car ever. Note: I recommend that you personally inspect the vehicle or have have someone inspect it for you. There are no inspections after the winning bid is placed. All inspections must take place before the auction is over. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
