Vehicle description
1980 MG-B
1980 MGB Convertible in nice, restorable condition. 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder motor, 4-spd manual transmission. Intake system w/ dual SU carbs. (Rear carb needs new bowl gasket and is currently being bypassed.) Complete front suspension upgrade to modern tube type shocks, etc. Over $2000 spent on the front suspension upgrade alone. Handling and ride is much improved over original factory lever-type shocks. Recent new interior, exhaust, gas tank, fuel pump, radiator. Brand new front tires and battery installed last week (June 30 th , 2020). Undercarriage is very clean and solid. All electrics work except radio and cigarette lighter . All locks work and have keys for everything. No under carriage or body rust issues, but clear gloss, top coat is peeling and needs to be re-done. Due to not being driven, hydraulic clutch slave cylinder is currently inoperative and needs to be rebuilt or replaced . Up until 2016 car was one of our daily drivers, but only during good weather. This is a nice, fun car to drive around, especially with the top down. It gets a lot of attention, too.
Can be inexpensively FULLY insured as “Historic Collectable” with Historic plates for less than $200 . 00 per year. HAGGERTY classic car appraisal value for this car in 2014 was over $12,000 . 00 Our total investment into this car exceeds $14,000. Must sell due to moving. $3,500 Although the car is in very nice condition, it needs to have the clutch slave cylinder repaired in order to be driven and is being sold as "USED, AS-IS." Please remember that this is a 40 year old British sports car and needs to be properly maintained and cared for as such.
