TOYOTA 1JZ-VVTI TURBO SWAPPED 1980 MERCEDES 450SL
Yes, you read that right. A fully registered, running and driving 1JZ swapped classic Mercedes Benz R107. Built for reliability, not power. Sorry, purists. It makes a lot of awesome turbo noises and breaks necks literally every where it goes. People really will crowd around this anomaly over a Lambo.
Its a stock Toyota 1JZ-GTE with an automatic 4 speed. Stock Mercedes rear end but geared down.
I recently replaced the front subframe with a reinforced one. New front subframe and control arm bushings.
Never got the gauges to work so AEM gauges (oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temp, AFR) were retrofitted into the middle 3 AC vents like they were meant to be there. Radio works and there is a subwoofer in the back. Stock fuel gauge works.
Starts and drives every single time. No question of its reliability. The whole point of the car was to have the classic Benz aesthetic with cheap Toyota reliability.
-THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND VALVE COVERS ARE LEAKING. IF IT DOESNT SELL SOON, ILL FIX THEM MYSELF.
-THE DASH HAS A FEW HAIRLINE CRACKS, ORIGINAL -FUEL GAUGE WORKS BUT THE REST DO NOT BECAUSE THE ENGINE AND TRANS ARE SWAPPED -INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL SO ITS SHOWING ITS AGE BUT EVERYTHING IS STILL USABLE -SOFT TOP PLASTIC WINDOWS ARE CRACKED -I HAVE A HARD TOP BUT ITS RED -THE VEHICLE IS HAS A FEW DENTS AND THE CLEAR COAT ON THE HOOD IS PEELING -AUTOMATIC TRANS BUT THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE SHIFTED FROM FIRST UP TO DRIVE ALMOST LIKE A MANUAL -I WILL NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT SMOG, YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS IF YOURE INTERESTED
