2 x Mercedes 300D"s for sale. Great restoration project for someone with time to invest. 1980 model has 166K miles and runs great. I drive 80 miles daily without issues. The front right fender and hood have slight impact damage from a deer last year. The hood bracket has failed as result. I also bumped the back driver side quarter panel with my excursion, ruining the molding. The 1983 is the same W123 body without a motor and in nice condition without rust and free of dents. Both interiors are in good shape and accessories besides automatic antennas work as advertised. The sunroofs on both cars still work normally. The 1983 also comes with an extra transmission. The silver car is in good shape, but I just hosed it off so it"s shinier than reality.
The 1980 car with engine has very low mileage considering the Mercedes W123 Diesel engine. It is famed as the Mercedes "million mile motor". The valve stems seals, manifold gasket, glow plugs, and valve cover gasket were all replaced in 2017. New tires were also purchased in 2016. I planned to put the 1980 motor into the 1983 body and have a very nice Classic car averaging 30-32mpg. These cars aren"t fast, but fun to drive and very reliable. I never tried, but they may also run on veggie oil without massive alterations.
Both cars have functioning automatic windows and good glass throughout. The front windows of the 1980 have new hinge brackets notorious for failing in this model.
