Vehicle description
This is a nicely refinished 1991 RHD Ex-MOD Defender 110. It is, for the most part, original with the exception of the paint and interior. The truck was legally imported into the US in 2016.
Frame is in very very good condition, no welds, no repairs. Bulkhead is good as well, no visible issues
The original 2.5NA motor was gone over by well respected Land Rover mechanic and several minor issues were sorted to make the truck completely reliable.
The body was professionally prepped and refinished, including new series style doors and tailgate, hinges, lock sets, and door and window seals. The exterior is finished in Land Rover Marine Blue, the interior floor is black Raptor Liner.
All seats were replaced with new Exmoor seating. A new Exmoor cubby box was installed, and a new Exmoor canvas top installed. The truck seats 10.
Negatives:
A couple of chips in the paint
Minor fluid leaks
Definitely not a fast truck (55mph top speed).
No radio, and if it had one, you would never be able to hear it.
Positives:
Be prepared to get endless compliments. Truck draws people in every time we drove it.
Needs nothing as it sits, starts every time, shifts great, everything works as it should.
This is a right hand drive (RHD) truck and does not have power steering. When I bought it, those two things really had me concerned. Not just because I"m selling this one, but if you are seriously considering a Defender, don"t rule out a truck just because its RHD. After about a year of owning two of these trucks, I am completely use to RHD and you don"t really give it a second thought. The power steering thing was not a problem either, you just need to be a little more considerate at times of where you park. Again, neither is a reason to overlook this or other Defenders.
I can help arrange shipping if need be.
I"m are selling because I purchased another Defender 110. I think the asking price is completely reasonable, considering the $30,000+ price being asked for some of the other 110s 3 door trucks on the market, which are mostly basic, unrefinished army trucks.
