Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 1980 Buick Electra Estate Wagon. Interesting project or for parts, includes new front end parts - see below. Third owner since 1995. Originally a Texas car from Al Parker Buick in Houston. Gold with woodgrain vinyl in poor condition. Gold crushed velour upholstery. Third rear-facing gold vinyl seat. I have a file full of receipts for various parts over the years. Car has an estimated mileage about 300,000 miles. Speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge do not work. Car came with the Buick 350 engine (VIN X) and Turbo 350 transmission. 1980 was the last year of the Buick V8. Engine is not original and has an estimated 120,000 miles; trans about 160,000. Car has an original 10-bolt 8.5-inch limited slip rear that works well. I believe the rear end is a 3:08. Power steering pump leaks. Exhaust pipe is rusted. Car has a tilt-telescopic steering column and cruise control that worked when the speedometer was working. Stereo has a cassette player and integral CB radio that do not work. Car has the factory automatic load leveling system that no longer works. Car ran and drove when parked, but needs at least front end work and tires to be road worthy. Car has been parked for a few years, so condition of brakes is unknown. They worked fine when it was parked.Air conditioning and electronic climate control panel do not work. AC compressor is gone, but I have the mounting brackets. AC blower worked using a separate switch. Door and window weatherstrip are in poor condition. Both front electric seat motors worked, but the mechanisms are broken and won’t allow the seats to adjust. Electric door locks and windows worked when the car was parked. Rear door lock worked with the key, but not really well with the electric lock switches. Rear window went up and down very well with the key, and very slowly to not-at-all with the dash switch.Roof along both sides above the doors has rust holes, and rust holes where the roof rack had been. Roof rack was removed, but will come with the car as will window and side panel trim not seen in the photos. Both rear side windows have rusty channels. Rust is also visible at both front door hinge areas below the A-pillars. The front left floor pan also has a three to four-inch hole. The car will leak water due to the rusted areas, and the interior is in poor condition as a result. I keep it covered with a tarp to keep it as dry as possible.Metal of all five doors is in good shape. Hood has a nickel-sized rust area along the rear edge under the trim, but is otherwise solid. Front interior door panels are very rough; rear door panels are not quite as bad. One of the rear doors (right side I think) has a factory build sheet behind the door panel. Door glass and rear window glass are in good shape but have window film in poor condition. Front windshield is cracked in several places. Interior plastic panels are in rough shape.Car comes with new Moog upper and lower front control arms, new Raybestos front coil springs, and new KYB Gas-adjust front and rear shocks. High-lift rear coil springs were installed several years ago. Car comes with three extra 15x6 Buick chrome road wheels and eight center caps. Wheels have some surface rust and caps are in rough shape. Car includes a frame-mounted trailer hitch. It had been a good, dependable car over the years, and I would love to keep it, but I do not have the funds or the facilities to do anything with it.See pictures for more detail. Please ask if you have questions. I can send pictures of anything specific upon request.Selling AS IS. I WILL NOT PART OUT. I have clear Texas title in hand. I make no guarantees of the car’s condition, as I have described it as best I can. I recommend picking up the vehicle with a trailer or flatbed wrecker. I would prefer local pick-up, but will try to work with the buyer on shipping if needed. All shipping arrangements will be the buyer’s responsibility, and I will not be liable for shipping cost, problems, or delays. The sale will be final. Payment due within five days.
