Vehicle description
Up for sale is an original (Last year of the German Beetle) - 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible, with original dealer installed air conditioning that works! As well as only 63,359 documented original miles! Very low mile Beetle! This is an original fuel injection car, unmolested. Three owner car, with a clear South Carolina Title. We are relisting this car due to a bidder that was unable to purchase after winning because of an issue on their end.
In the past month this car has had the following: -New Tune up including Plugs, Wires, Fuel Pump, Fuel Lines, FI Hoses. Valves have been adjusted along with fresh oil change. Also a new set of points have been installed.
This car stars, runs and drives very well, but please keep in mind this is a 42 year old classic vintage Beetle. It"s not perfect and doesn"t drive like a brand new car. It has original paint, (Diamantsilber L97A) The paint is 42+years old and has some faded areas, but I we have not tried to buff it out. The drivers side door is not discolored, but in the photos it appears darker because it was wet and wiped clean before photos were taken. The paint is original and has some dull areas, a good buffering would do it wonders!
The car is not perfect, but its a great example of an original desirable "79 Super Convertible with still all the FI components hooked up and the factory dealer installed A/C. The Bug has very little rust in the pan where the battery is. The convertible support beams & rockers are very solid. The top is in very good condition. No cracks, breaks or leaks. There is a 1+" space int he windshield seal at the top where it will probably need a new windshield seal soon ($30) There is no rust holes in the body, just very light surface rust in a few spots. All the windows crank up and down just fine and doors open and close very nicely. The car will need a new windshield seal and a new muffler soon (it has a cheap repair job on the muffler) Still plenty of time this summer to enjoy it with the top down! The tires are very good. Car starts, runs and drives like a 42 year old VW.
All electronics work properly as they should. Even the seatbelt buzzer on the dash still works! Car has whitewall tires. Have I mentioned the original beautiful original floor mats!? I have the fourth wheel center cap (not shown in photos) as well as a new fan belt that has been installed just not shown in photos for the AC Compressor in the engine compartment. Feel free to ask any questions. Links to more photos and video below! Priced to sell very reasonably considering it"s originality and low miles for a unrestored, original "79 Super Beetle Convertible survivor. Thanks for looking, be blessed and have a wonderful day!
