Vehicle description

It"s time to give someone else a chance to bring this "79 FJ55 back to its former glory! I had great plans 16 years ago, when I saw an ad in IH8MUD, flew to Texas and drove this back to Napa. Unfortunately, my lengthy commute, other project car and various hobbies prevented me from ever getting this registered and on the road.
When driving back to Napa, I noticed a distinct lack of power while climbing the passes, which turned out to be a compression leak between 3 & 4. The head was milled and valve job and crack detection completed (I have the receipt for this work).
The "79 is the last year for the FJ55 series, and only one with factory power steering. This one also has after-factory air (Vintage Air), which worked very well when I bought it, but currently does not (presumably needs recharging). I replaced the capillary tube switch, and I know that the compressor clutch is engaging, it just does not push out cold air. I also have new replacement defroster hoses from SOR.
As you can see from the photos, it has the typical issues for FJ55s: Rust around the roof sill, rocker panels and some body mounts. There is sag on the driver"s side springs, and the driver"s side door hinge is worn. However, the frame is solid, and floor panels are for the most part (except driver"s side) solid. The rear window does work, but sometimes binds (which is why the tailgate panel is off). I have the title, signed over from the seller in TX. Regarding mileage, I have no idea whether the odometer turned over more than once.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any specific pictures.
