Vehicle description
For sale with reserve well under 10k I have a running 1979 Porsche 928 4.5 US 5-speed with 96k miles on it, I bought the car over 6 years ago and I started the restoration process. I started with the engine and the following were repaired/worked on: Oil pan gasket, head gasket, water pump and all gaskets that needed to be replaced when the engine was out. New Engine mounts, all the rubber hoses, alternator, oil pressure sensor, new spark plugs, belts, timing and 87 headers which were over $700 alone. Clutch and injectors were done not even 100 miles ago, so was fuel pump and filters, A/C or heat not working never get around to take a look at it. My next step with the car was working on the interior, the door panels could use some aligning and tweaking, the power seats are not moving (could be as simple as playing with the fuses), the instrument cluster doesn’t light up and I do get the check oil light blinking even knowing that the pressure sensor was replaced and oil pressure was tested multiple times to be ok, there is probably one more sensor that needs to be replaced. As you can see in the picture’s seats need work and the interior needs to be cleaned, the shifter in some pictures looks exposed those are slightly older pictures new shifter was installed just this week. As to the outside the car looks very good on the pictures and in the attached video, but it for sure needs to be re-painted. I don’t know if this car is an original yellow as I don’t know enough to tell you, on the title it’s yellow I did look for paint code stickers as per research online, but I couldn’t find them. Over the years I invested well over 5k into this car and I will probably loose money selling it but it"s for a good cause. My situation changed drastically when my daughter was born 13 months ago even now knowing that her brother is on the way, I really have no time to work on this car and need the money to buy an SUV. I don’t want this car to be sitting another 6 years waiting for me to finish it up. Car is sold as is and it will be a very nice project to finish for someone that has time to finish it up. I’m also selling red 1979 928 4.7 EU car which needs much more attention let me know if you"re interested and/or if you like to buy both. The car as on pictures was not detailed or masked in any way for the pictures, it is for sure a car that needs some work inside and outside to bring it into the perfect condition but if you’re willing to put some time into it you will get it to be a show car. Needs some love! Perfect for a Porsche enthusiast! I can help you with arranging shipping but no funny business please.
