Vehicle description
Here is an opportunity to make this summer really special for one lucky MG enthusiast. This is a 1979 MGB Roadster that needs nothing to turn heads wherever you choose to go. Year of manufacture is December 1978. Included are original 1978 NC license plate.
I bought this car in 2005 from a person who restores British cars. This car has been garaged kept since 2005 and was only driven on weekends in dry weather since.
BODYWORK In 2005 the bodywork has all been replaced with metal where necessary, floors are solid with no rust, panel fit is exceptional illustrating that the car has had no apparent collision or other damage. The exterior was finished in the original Pageant Blue in 2005 and is a good quality finish with only minor imperfections here and there.
INTERIOR The interior was refurbished in 2005 and is in good condition. Doorcaps have minor vinyl cracking. The dash has one minor split in the vinyl. All standard instruments and controls are present and fully functional. Seats are comfortable, though the headrests will need recovering in the future.
Engine/Transmission The engine starts and runs effortlessly. The engine was rebuilt in 2000. Original Zenith Stromberg carburetor. There are no modifications to the driveline, it is exactly as it came from the factory.
WHEELS AND TIRES The original Rostyle wheels are true and balanced. Tires were replaced in 2016. Original spare, jack and tonneau bows with original bags.
BRAKES/SUSPENSION Front end was rebuilt in 2000 and performs excellently. Steering and brakes are excellent.
New top was installed in 2004. The luggage rack in is the original and the chrome is in good condition.
They"re a few items that will require attention for the car to be a great show candidate. The engine bay requires detailing
The car needs nothing to be enjoyed right away. I would recommend viewing in person since sale of the vehicle is outright and final. Whilst every effort has been made to describe the vehicle accurately and honestly, no warranty is either expressed or implied and the car is sold on a strictly "AS IS" basis. Buyer should be aware that this is a 40 year old vehicle.
