Vehicle description
One of the great 70s land yachts! 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car with only 52,000 mile on her. She is Copper (Crystal Apricot Metallic) color with 1/2 vinyl roof. Great shape no body rust. I would love to say she has the original paint, but the original owner I bought her off of said she had her repainted many years back to give her a "refreshed" look. The big 400 runs great with cold AC. She does have a new carburetor, plugs, wires, rotor and cap so you should not have any problems keeping her running smoothly. Burgundy leather interior. The driver"s seat does need to be re-upholstered, but the rest of the seats just need to be re-conditioned to get the leather looking new again. There is a small tear in the carpet at the drivers heal mat which is easily repairable. The rest of the interior is in great condition. The AM/FM Quadrasonic 8 track does not work, as most from this era have failed; as this radio was a bad design. I haven’t found anyone out there who is taking on repairing these or modernizing these particular radios yet. But it is the original DIN type unit so it can be easily can be replaced with a modern stereo. The clock was stuck and clicking so I unplugged it. I haven’t bought a replacement one yet, but have seen them on EBay. The power seat switch is bad on both sides (the driver side just burnt out). Again it is a common problem for this car. I have seen the switches on EBay, I just haven’t bought them yet. The only other issue is the fuel gauge is randomly intermittent. I have replaced the sending unit, and checked all the grounds. The only thing left is the gauge and I just have not found one yet. I am selling this beauty because I have three other classics that need my attention. This baby needs to go to a home that can give her the love that she needs.
