This 1979 Ford Fairmont was factory ordered by the original owner in Midnight Blue Metallic with Medium Red Interior. It was garage kept for 39 years before the original owner passed away. After the owner passed, the owners son reached out to the mans long time mechanic and sold the car to him. The 2nd owner/mechanic drove the car on special occasions up and down the east coast for the past 2 years. The car has been gone over and starts, stops, runs and drives. The carburetor has been rebuilt and it starts right up on the coldest of mornings. The original R-12 Freon is still in the car and the A/C blows cold. It is a great car to drive and everything works as it should. It recently completed a 200 mile drive with no problems. The original tires were recently replaced on the stock wheels. The tires are white walls and the 4 original hubcaps & wheels come with the car. The only modification to this car was a set of 1993 Mustang GT Wheels were added. The original owner would drive his grandchildren to Ocean City in the car every summer and the parking permit from the Satellite Motel is still hanging from the rear view mirror. The car has 62,056 miles on it, it runs strong, does not burn or leak oil. It shifts smooth. This car is ready to drive. If you would like the original look, you can just put the original wheels and tires back on it. The paint is original and there are some dings and scratches from over the years. Sometimes the fuel gauge intermittently goes in and out and there is a squeak in the front end sometimes when you go over a bump. Most likely, one of the suspension components needs to be greased. The car seems fairly solid for its age. There are two rust spots that I noticed. The first seems to be about 3" x 3" and is in the front left of the drivers floor area. There is also a rust spot on the front right of the passenger floor area that measures about 3"x 4". (Shown in last 2 pictures in this listing) The trunk corners and floors seem to be strong. The rocker panels are also in nice condition. The AM/FM radio works as it should and the gas tank is currently full. The 200 CI inline 6 engine runs smooth and the car gets excellent gas mileage. This may be a classic but has been maintained well and could be used as a daily driver. The car has a clear Maryland title.
