Vehicle description
This 1979 Bronco has been a hobby of mine for the past 5+ years. The previous owner did much of the work to the exterior and some of the interior. When I purchased it, I picked up where he left off by upgrading and replacing components. I"ll review some of the major changes: Lifted and added Fuel rims with Nitto Trail Grappler 38X15.5 R20 LT tires and Fox performance 2.0 Series shocks. I removed the old carpet and installed sound deadening mats throughout the entire floor of the truck and the doors. It rides much quieter than it used to. Then I installed brand new black carpet in the interior. A JL Audio sound system with amps was installed with a sub under the backseat"s frame. There is an Alpine deck with Bluetooth and plug in for a phone. It"s a powerful setup and sounds great. I replaced all the exterior running lights and blinkers with LEDs and put on new light covers. The headlights are new but not LEDs. I painted the entire undercarriage with a black rust-preventative paint. It looks nice and it"ll protect from rust for years to come. When I purchased the Bronco it had the original Ford 351 engine but we found a small crack in the block. Instead of risking a repair I had a professional shop remove it and replace it with a new Ford 400 block. Most of the original parts were put back together on the engine. I also was experiencing some trouble with the original transmission and decided to replace it as well. I purchased it from Jasper and it is registered on their website. It was installed by the same shop and it is the same 3-speed transmission as it originally had on it. I also replaced a lot of the original engine accessories as they were clearly aging. I replaced the original carburetor with an Edelbrock Performer #1406 600 CFM and air filter. Also replaced the starter, alternator, valve covers and added a windshield washer reservoir (which was missing). Replaced the battery with a larger one. It"s about 1.5 years old and still strong. The front seats are racing seats which are pretty comfortable but originally they had a 5 point harness in them which was a little much for how I drove it so I removed them and added new, normal seat belts for both front seats. When I purchased the truck it had 2 racing seats in the backseat as well. I didn"t really like that look and took them out. I was planning to find an original folding Bronco backseat to re-upholster but never got around to it. The original backseat frame is still mounted in the backseat so if you are able to find a bench or wanted to add bucket seats to the back, it"d be very easy to do. I do not have the two old racing seats anymore. The speedometer in the dash does not work (this is due to the speedo cable, not the instrument itself) so I purchased a small GPS speedometer that mounts on the dash and reflects onto the windshield. It"s more accurate anyways. Other Notes:
All the windows function properly including the electric back window which rolls down by using the key in the keyhole on the tailgate. The windows are tinted. I left the original spare tire on the back because I thought it would look weird with a giant spare tire. So, there is no spare tire or wheel. The 4-wheel drive does work normally. The hard top is removable. I"m selling because I now have 2 little kids with a 3rd on the way and I don"t have the spare time I used to. I rarely drive it anymore but I would estimate I only put about 3-4,000 miles on this thing in the past 5 years. It was a nice-day weekend car for me and I barely ever took it out of town. It"s been to a couple local car shows for fun. I"ve never taken it off-road. The title is clean and clear and in-hand.
