Vehicle description
This is a 1979 Camaro Z-28 with T-tops, there were only approximately 3900 Green Camaro"s made in 1979, even fewer Z-28"s and even fewer with green interior, I"ve been told approximately 700 with that combination, but also told by an individual that claimed to be an expert, that the factory did not track the interior colors. So, either way, there were not that many made in this color combination. This car went through a four year frame off restoration. Just about everything was new or rebuilt. It is not numbers matching. The rear end is the original posi-trac with I believe 308 gears but the car did not have a motor or transmission in it when I bought it. The current motor is a 350 out of a 1977 corvette and the transmission is a Turbo 350, out of a 1973 Chevelle SS. Both were professionally rebuilt. The carburetor is a quadra-jet and is a 1979, which was also rebuilt. Most of the interior is new or re-dyed the original color. This car had very few options, pretty much just a stereo and T-tops. It was repainted about three years ago and the decals were just recently professionally applied. It has brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires with the original Z28 color matched factory ralley wheels with new center caps and beauty rings. The trunk looks factory original, with the factory space saver spare tire with inflator. I have the original new old stock factory willow green front and rear floor mats. I also have the original Fisher body T-top covers. The car required new floor pans, a partial tail pan and about an 8" patch put in the original right lower rear quarter panel, which was professionally done. This car is not perfect like a 100 point restoration vehicle, but it is in really nice condition and shows very well. It has been in two car shows in the past two months and won awards in both. I wouldn"t be affraid to get in the car and drive from Coast to coast. It runs very well and the exhaust is a flow master knock off and is very throaty. It has less than 200 miles on it since the restoration was completed, so just about everything is like new. The engine has a mild cam and an edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. It is as clean underneath as it is on top. Please let me know if you have any questions.
